Bent/cracked rim nightmare over!
Finally after 8 bent /cracked rims in last 3K miles my nightmare is over! New Forgeline VX1R's in satin black from Gerry at CW4L arrived and were put on this week. Car looks great and rides better than it ever did. Smooth as silk now with no vibration or noise. Couldn't be happier! My friend with a newer Z06 who thought I was crazy to spend so much money on wheels with C8 coming out drove my car and was shocked at how great it looked and felt. Gerry gave me a great deal and fantastic service.....great guy to deal with. Thanks Gerry!

What was the cost. In the end that's what everyone is going to use to determine their course of action. Ino. Including myself should I start to have issues once my new Z06 comes in I went with the regular design wheels vs my 10 spike blades on their now...
Thanks
Ps. Mount balance whole deal... what it run you?

I got a very good price on the wheels but would ask you to call CW4L to get an idea of what model and finish etc you request would cost.. These wheels are not cheap but Gerry gave me an excellent deal. . Mount and balance plus an oil change at dealer was 210 dollars. Definitely cheaper options out there but Forgeline reputation and service from Gerry all were top notch. Also I had to consider....what happens if I DO hit a bad pothole and bend a rim now? With these wheels I can send back to Gerry who's down the road from Forgeline factory in Ohio and they can fix it and get it back to me in a week. If the wheels are made in Taiwan what are you gonna do?
If I trade the car in a few years I'll put the old wheels back on and sell these wheels separately or id I'm lucky they may fit the new car. (unlikely but possible if it's another Vette.)

Its a costly finish and you might like brushed/gloss clear as its much less $$
Heres Fully Polished/Clear

For the 2017 Z06 w/Z07 .. wouldn't the ZX Monoblocks be closer to the factory Z06 wheels? Or is there a better match, love my wheels, but looking at stronger options for a second set of tires

I agree the VX1's are beautiful but I went with the VX1r's because they are stronger and actually lighter than VX1 and given the problems I was having I wanted the strongest wheel I could get I think the VX1r's look great but the VX1's are probably a little more interesting to look at. I'm happy with my choice and would order the same wheels again.

Is the Brushed/Clear finish the one you have on your own VX1s on the C7R? Also is the ZH1 the closest to stock? I do love my stock Z06 chrome wheels and if they crack (haven't yet as far as I know but am due for tires this summer so we'll see). I would like to stay close to the look. And are they available in both brushed and polished also? I understand polished would be more expensive. I have polished a lot of aluminum for old XKE Jag engines. Messy and time consuming. Thanks, Bob
