Best tire replacement for street use
Hello everyone.... Going back and forth between the toyo R888R and Nitto NT01 for the best handling street tire on the stock wheels... The car makes over 1000 WHP so I know nothing will hook on the street and I have a set of 15" drag radials and front runner for the track but I want something stable and fun when I drive it on the street occasionally.... What tires are you all running... BTW it is a 2016 Z06 07 package.. Thanks for the input

I have not run the A/S3 I was thinking of getting them but more for a winter tire. Let us know if you get those. I have driven a lot on the Conti Extremes. I believe they are way safer than the Michelin super sport if the temperature is below 50°. I run the Perelli Soto zeros in the winter time.

I swtiched from the TERRIBLE PSS's to conti extreme's.
Night and day. For a STREET car, this is the way to go. Of course the PSS's are probably a better track car. But there are too many downsides to live with, if you do street drive it vs what you might give if you track the car going with conti's.
Most people drive these cars on the street. I switched from the PSS's twice to conti, on my C6GS and my C7Z. I wouldn't have done it if the tire was no good.
There are too many upsides. It's quieter, takes bumps better, same traction (for street), has a longer longevity, doesn't do the tire skip at full lock on slow speeds, it's cheaper, doesn't follow the grooves in the road etc.
I can't see how anyone would not wanna at least try them. It's a damn good tire.

I am running Toyos r888rs on my Z. Little less HP than yours, 865. The handle and hook great. My only complaint is that they are louder than the PSS or the A/S3+. Going forward my A/S3+ are going to be a Nov-Mar tire or when on long trips when a RF might be preferred. The ride on the Toys is excellent.

@FDee im thinking a lot of guys didnt read you have 1000whp...because they would never recommend an all season tire if they did... HAHAHAHAHA.... maybe at stock power levels the AS3 is an ok tire, but not where you are... that would be a great smoke show though.
Anyway... R888R is your answer IMO. I think the NT01 is an ok tire, but the R888R is definitely a better tire, even if only marginally. I have "heard" the sidewall on the R888R is better than the NT01. There is a reason most guys run R888R's and a lot less run NT01.

I can "almost" guarantee the OP isnt taking the car out in any weather where the AS3 would be useful over the PSS or a Cup tire.
The AS3's have their place, but most definitely not on this guys car. I wouldnt even recommend PSS's to him. Cup's might have a chance.
There is a difference between "nothing hooks" and being like driving on bowling *****. The AS3 combined with this guys car would be like the latter while the R888R would at least have a chance. The AS3+ ZP is a 500 treadwear rating vs. the R888R with a 100 tread rating... Cups are a 140 or 180 tread rating(im not sure which sku links to the corvette tire)...

OP R888R's are your best bet. I run NT-01's or MT drag radials and am not near the HP you are running. Depends on what you expect from a street legal tire. If you are expecting to hook 1000 RWHP I don't think anything short of Hoosier drag tires will do the trick but is you just want good tires that will perform reasonably well at that 1000 HP level the R-888R in 345 width are the ticket.
I don't drive the Vette in temps below 40 degrees at least deliberately. I am hoping for near 800 + or - RWHP after the car comes back from this round of mods and that is ridiculous but YEHA fun. Even at 800 HP much less 1000 HP you can get yourself into serious trouble on back roads. Once you choose & install tires come back and and tell us what you think.

But other than that, conti was much better for me, for street use.
