Slammed, new shoes
while inspecting my tires which looked not to bad until I looked at the extreme inside edge on all 4 which is hard to see I found this.cords showing, 11k miles.so new set of michlens were put on.while I was going to have a all wheel alignment I figured I would lower the car all the way on stock bolts.took the 4x4 look out of the car.my dealer wrench says he sees wear like this all the time on the stock tires.he claims because they are so wide.that sucks because their was still some life left in them, were close but not to the ware bar.
rear,then front.
before,after.

Had the same problem. Bought the car used and it was lowered on the stock bolts. 8000 miles later all four tires had the cords showing on the inside. Got some new tires and then took it in for an alignment. We'll see how it goes now.
Get an alignment done.

It sounds like lowering the car increases tire ware. Why do you lower the car? What is the advantage? Is it all cosmetic? I find the car handles better then my Porsche 911S in Track Sport 2. Is there any documentation that lowering the car improves lap times?

This. And from my understanding, as long as it is lowered on stock bolts, you are staying within GM specifications for suspension. My C6 Z06 arrived kind of low as it was and lowering it didn't take much turns on the bolts at all.
Many will also suggest an alignment afterwards to ensure proper tire wear.

lowering will throw out the toe (not so much camber) and it's a good idea to have it aligned to avoid premature tire wear.
the spring bolts are for corner balancing but everyone uses them to lower the car, which technically does throw the travel and weight balance off, but usually aesthetically oriented people are not as concerned with functionality.
LG Lowering Spindles allow you to have the car slightly lower than the pic above while keeping maximum suspension travel, no spring rubbing the control arm, and the mag ride to work as intended, while still allowing corner balance, if you want to do it right.

Had same issue with my 16 Z06,
Could not see inside edge of tires. Reached in and rubbed my had across the tire. It felt like a cactus, steel cords.
had almost 16,000 on the tires so replaced all four, and had tires aligned. Dealer said it was far out of alignment.
