Default Fuel pump issue on new 2019 Z06?

I have a 2019 Z06 M7 that I bought new. It has 1200 miles. Today I started hearing a loud whining noise from the right rear of the car near the gas tank. It’s really loud inside the cabin. Went to the dealer (Mark Christopher Chevrolet) and the service guy said it sounds like the fuel pump is going out but the technician will look at it tomorrow morning. Anyone else experience this issue? Thanks.

Sorry to hear you may have a bad fuel pump so soon.

It also could be the rear cooling fans running and/or possibly going bad.

Do you hear it more while the car is stopped or under acceleration?

It sounds almost the same when idling or under acceleration. Maybe a bit louder under acceleration but hard to tell since the exhaust and road noise gets louder also. But it’s pretty loud and annoying in the cabin. The car is only a month old. I hope it’s something minor and they have it fixed ASAP.

Hearing the noise from the right rear is not likely to be the fuel pump. The fuel pump that supplies fuel to the high pressure pump is located in the left hand side fuel tank, not the right hand side.

I got my car back today and they said everything was fine. Fuel pressure was good and the noise seemed normal to them. Car runs fine and no CEL. Pulls like a freight train still in this 95 degree SoCal day. I had the Borla 60547 installed this week on it also. Sounds like damn monster on WOT!

OP, I guess I'm a bit confused. In your post you said : "I started hearing a loud whining noise from the right rear of the car near the gas tank (gas tanks by the way are behind the seats). It’s really loud inside the cabin." The dealer looked at it and said "It's normal"

Is it still making a loud enough noise to hear and be annoying in the cabin? If it is, there is definitely something not right. Neither one of my C7's ever made that type of noise. Because a dealer gave it the sunshine treatment and says "it's normal" --- IT"s NOT. If it is in fact still there, keep looking into it -- that's NOT NORMAL.

I guess part of noise was me hearing the a/c fan lol but I noticed it when I was under the car first when I installed the Borla x pipe this week. That’s why I figured it was the fuel pump since it was coming from right fuel tank. I never paid attention to it (I’ve only had the car for a month, and I bought it new) so maybe it was always there? I asked another technician to look at it to be safe and he said it was normal also. It’s very silent and goes away depending on the fuel level since I can’t hear it at all with a full tank and when I did notice it, the car was almost empty.
