What fuel rail covers are you talking about? The fuel rail and injectors are located under the intake manifold / supercharger. The only covers are on the valve covers and they are purely cosmetic, I removed mine as soon as I got my car.

They are pretty easy to install - especially if you aren't replacing the plenum too. If the plenum too (I don't see much point in doing the rails and not doing the plenum) removing the push cable mounts - they are difficult not to mention you'll need regular ties to at best to modify the old - I didn't have them on hand so I bought some from Amazon - I don't remember but I think there are 4 on the driver's side and 3 on the passenger side but don't hold me to it) the one that's longer (you'll know it when you remove them) on the drivers side nearest the driver I just replaced with the same as the replacements I bought and it's been fine - I just didn't tighten it down as much but it's still plenty secure. There are people who claim to be able to remove them with a plastic pry tool which is what I used and it definitely helped remove them but there was no way they could've been reused - apparently they aren't easy to find at dealers so I was happy to locate on Amazon - I'm a tad bit OCD.
