Default help with exhasut drone, please

(CLOSED) got Corsa catback, problem solved! little help from the experts here. I recently bought a 15 Z06 with long tube headers and Magnum Flow exhaust, I think it competition cat back, Anyway DAMN its loud! I like loud and OK with it, but the drone on ther highway will destoy your ears. HOW can I lower the drone without buying a whole new catback system? Of course, no way to adjust the sound because it has no valves like the stock exhaust.

Got to be a way to at least reduce some of the drone without changing the catback completly!

about all you can do is wrap the mid pipe to help insulate it. your exhaust is doing exactly what it was built for. to be loud

Maybe try one of those sound deadening mats that go in the cargo area. A vendor here sells them but can't remember the name

Funny, only because I have one already! bought it years ago when I had a C7, saved it in my garage and put it in the Z when I bought it. Does'nt help!

I would agree with this. The drone is pretty much a function of the exhaust system. The Corsa is one of the few non-stock exhaust systems that I've found that didn't have an issue with drone at steady speeds.

You should be able to change just the mufflers to Borla.

I was told by a custom exhaust shop owner that Long tube headers, no cats and MF catback is about as close as you can get to streight pipe exhaust as possible. Add some free flow cats, will help a lot, or Corsa catback would be best. So I guess I'll look for a set of Corsa catbacks.

Any exhaust will drone without cats, get the high Flo cats and go from there.

The cheapest option is to find the stock axle back system for sale(forum or junk yard) and replacement NPP valves and put the rear section back to stock. This will greatly reduce the drone with the valves open (sport/track) and completely eliminate drone in Tour mode. But essentially, any system that restores the NPP valves will be way better.
