the late 80's called, they want their wheels back.....
Front fenders look funny to me and still don't seem to cover the rear of the tire down low... WHY??
other than that OP, great job. and unless you're living under a rock, they are the most coveted pics in the car world right now so the more the better. even better would be a video up close and personal while it's sitting there.. especially of the interior gauges, emblems, plaque down low where ours says 650/650
thanks for posting.

"Currently, Mercury Racing makes two crate engines intended for cars, but it’s a pretty small operation. The company builds a GM LS-based 7.0-liter V-8 that makes 750 horsepower called the SB4 and a much more serious 9.0-liter twin-turbo V-8, called the QC4, which cranks out 1,350 HP. Both engines are DOHC with four valves per cylinder."

Of course we can remember the C4 when the different rear body panels lasted one year, then all adopted by the base Vette the next year. We'll see what unfolds.

The Hood
Nice work Danny!
Guys, take a REAL close look at the center of the hood/bonnet. Does it not look like the hood of someone else's hood...the one that houses 777 hp?

BP gas is Top Tier, and apparently works well in the new monster engine.

The one up car with the ACR!
Hate to say the thing is pretty ugly with a lot of parts from the Z06 parts bin! The Z06 is a much better looking car. Then for me the much better street car. Case is closed in my mind rather have two Z06's 1 A8 and one high power should be faster than the ZR1 M7
Sure the ZR1 may track better. But the up coming high price and price mark-ups. Make it second year purchase at best.
Don't see myself buying one. I doubt they make or sell 1500 per year.
Could be wrong there but going by the number of Z06's.
Most of the boomer's buying most of the Z06's those will not buying ZR1's only very few.
Most will try the mid engine car but that is more than 2 years away.

Metro Detroit. Believe it or not I see one of these things almost every day. I saw a dark red convertible with the top down just earlier this afternoon. If I knew there would be this much interest I'd take pics more often.
I'll get one next time, he was pulling out as I pulled up sadly. If there is any request for certain pictures just let me know I'll snap some next time I run into one.

The butthurt/self validation of the Z06 owners has already begun, and the ZR isn't even released yet.
Looking forward to seeing it. Appears it's going to be a great rig.

Plenty of reasons to me to buy the Z06 instead.
The only real reason anyone should buy a car is because YOU want it! Not for the keep up with The Jone's club. If that was me I would have a stage 3 3 lz
Callaway! I drive and buy my cars because I like them.
I don't feel I want a ZR1. I don't track it is a track car.
Other than that for others
A. When you can buy one if you want anytime. ( I fit here)
B. this a car discussion forum also the Z06 section. Guys like us like the Z06
the ZR1 will never ever sell as many even at the same cost.
C. The reasons are valid for not wanting one.
1.over the top looks have to add butt ugly front nose. They chopped the front to get more air but got in hurry cause it's ugly.
2. not really a car for anything normal on the street. The low front will be history with street use.( I have replaced my stage one bill 3 times) they are many and only one of them is the cost but that is the big reason for some it is not a street car.
Like the C6 Z it is an after thought and uses many of the same parts.
3.Current Z06 is much better looking and fills the need much better.
Not seeing any butt hurt, the butt hurt will come from being in a ZR1 as it is walked on the highway. By a Z06 with mods! ( Don't see too many rushing to mod the ZR1)That is the real hurt.
but more it is really you trying to be cute! Nice try!

a little "busy" up front... and not in a good sort of way. idk. i'll hold the nose opinion until i see it done in person. it's different, that's for sure.... i know i am not impressed with what i've seen so far but i think the final product will be cool looking.
