Power to weight. 700HP (likely underrated), and under 3200 lbs.

Where do you get the "under 3200 lbs." notion?

700 HP kind of lines up with the competitive Porsche. Anyway, you are right there too. Porsche has seen fit to add 200 lb to the old 997. GT3 same - same.
Anyway, it seems weight is being handled well these days, and even desired probably to keep those rear bad boys connected! Rear engine race cars haven't liked the street like (Ring) bumps I understand. Problem solved!?

Well, the 911s have become more elongated over time, so they keep creeping closer and closer to mid-engine.

ZR1 should break the 7 minute mark, but barely . . . not shatter it like the GT2 RS. Everyone should feel proud when it does, because that's no small feat.

A tail happy 911!?

Good news for any platform! Computers can keep anything on the road!

Go Corvette!
Traction and stability control were OFF during the GT2 RS run. It was all downforce and grip, not to mention the driver.

Kind of like Pobst shutting off the Z51 PTM when comparing to a AWD 911 at Mazda a while back, that statement is, I'm thinking.
The Porsche at least has all its track data in it as a ghost.
The Vette can just use that straight up for who knows!

The problematic limited Viper got a 7:01 and you've relegated the Vette to another 2 seconds! Who are you working for!?

ALL BETS ARE OFF!

So, it's already October. Is this a January 2018 Detroit Auto (NAIAS) show introduction as an early 2019 model?

Default Weight vs programmed chassis!

Approx.

918 3600lb
SV 3500lb
AMG GTR 3400lb
Camaro.....

IE the C6 ZR1 SC center of gravity, and MR!

More and more computers are keeping the cars flat to the track, and in control, which, makes sprung overall weight less significant (cheaper!).

Unless you're buying tires and brake pads.

Cheaper for them to produce the performance numbers! They still aren't really race cars, absolutely!
