ME will have a manual transmission option, which will keep me in the game. I'd be hard pressed to buy one if it didn't

Guess the HP? Guess the engine ? Guess if I'm trading both mine? Guess the haters comments, the possibilities are endless.

But time is short

HP - 785

Engine - 6.2 LT5 with TVS 2650 supercharger

Deb will trade her C7 Z06 and keep her C6 ZR1.

At some point in the future, Deb will consider adding a pristine C8 ME after GM has demonstrated that they can produce a reliable supercar that performs equally or better than the ME market competition.

Sorry, no 'haters' comment. However, it may be a while before Deb buys a GM ME. And I'm not a 'hater'.

No sense of humor ; so some of us are like the kid in the candy store
The latest intel,
what's going on at BG, the ME, and when we will see the new ZR reveal---
Sorry I can't for obvious reasons state facts! Allude to things yes.
Carry on and enjoy the speculation

I'm tired of the long wait, too. I've had a deposit on a ZR1 for well over a year.

So here's my take on our thread banter...this 1.5 year wait reminds me of a driving vacation with the family where all the excited parties are getting tired (grumpy) of the long drive. The long journey is turning out to be much longerrrrrr than expected...and the excitement's waning. You hear, "Are we there yet? Why are we going on this vacation?"

Deb's a moderator and I believe she (and others) are trying to reignite our excitement with some light-hearted banter.

Thanks to Deb, jagamajajaran, and others for helping to keep the excitement alive.

We'll arrive at our destination.
Let's hope it's worth the wait.

Default In the know

I sure miss the days when Detroit was within my immediate territory to cover at work. I used to go to Delphi and Siemens buildings quite regularly as well as other locations. I remember seeing the white C6 Coupe way back in 2002 or 2003. I also enjoyed sitting in a Ford GT prototype as it was being developed.

Unfortunately, those days are long gone. Now, I live about an hour south of BG, and visit the area pretty regularly on business. I do get some info from people in the know, but not much. I don't like to get anyone in trouble. Once production starts, I may be able to assist with early info. But for now, I sit here frustrated just like every other person. Any comment I currently mention is strictly speculations on my part.

Let's play - I believe ZR1 will be a supercharged 6.2-liter with a larger blower, just shy of 800 HP. I will not be ordering one. Instead, I will hold on to my C7-Z06 (I got lucky with being the first registered owner of a C7 Z06 - maybe one day that can be worth something; hard to believe at the end of this month, I will have owned the car 3 years - wow! how time flies), and getting the ME, which I believe will be DOHC based (with a manual transmission).

If the ZR1 ends up being an all-motor DOHC, I will reconsider.

Do you have a stage three? Just curious as there were a limited amount that have the Z06 logo on the wing.
Will the new ZR have a big wing

Are you indirectly hinting by asking that question that we are seeing a Z06 refresh & ZR1?

Thank you. Truly do not want to offend anyone. You accurately summed it up. Been a long wait. For those with deposits longer. About all we can do is wait a little longer and dream what may! Think if my C6ZR and C7 Z had a Super Child

Did you by chance add the 133hp difference between the C6 Z06 and C6 ZR1 to the current C7 Z06 and C7 ZR1? That's how I ended up getting 780. I rounded back while you rounded up. Lol

Yes, Z07 package and says Z06 on the wicker bill.

Sometimes I wonder, based on what we know, if "ZR1" is a another performance track package for the Z06, to justify its short run. The people I know couldn't answer, but he told me that if I am interested in the ME, it is well worth the wait.

Thanks Deb for your contributions. I'll play as well since I watched and videoed the 4- ZR1's testing around Laguna Seca for 2 1/2 days. There was also a ZO6, ZL1-1LE, and a Stingray with Grand Sport aero on it. Watching both ZR1 and the "I assume 2018 or 2019 ZO6" lap I think I can give my 2 cents.
Enhanced 6.2 LT4 with a 2.65L Eaton Supercharger now being referred to as the LT5. Most likely the engine will be further beefed up with more forged internals with enhanced head design work to allow better breathing. That will also require a enlarged exhaust system hopefully titanium for reduced weight (more air in, more air out). The ZR1 was definitely louder than the ZO6 therefore the reason for the new exhaust system. Since the front fascia is now properly vented the engine compartment has airflow management, hence the slots around the supercharger housing bulge. I do have a photo of the ZR1 showing the so called shaker hood. The top of the supercharger is poking out of the hood. Or at least the supercharger has a Carbon fiber canopy over the machined supercharger housing ala LS9. All four corners will have enhanced brake venting ducts therefore the wheel cavity will require air pressure release via vents and location specific wheels. The wheels that we have seen have directional blades that can extract air out or in of the cavity. Basically a far more sophisticated air management system than on the ZO6. Possible driveline enhancements to be beefed up since it will have to handle the 800hp that this new motor will develop. I initially thought it would have slightly more hp than a Callaway then thought, no way will they get this close to the 800 number and not go over it. Three levels of aero and a convertible option for the sun seekers makes this ZR1 much broader in it's marketing. I have watched and segment timed this car at length and can assure you all that this car is world class. I know the Motor Trend guys and can't wait for the logical upcoming ZR1 vs GT2RS vs 488 Speciale etc. test this coming year. Pobst will have a hay day.

I have wondered whether or not GM is interested in producing something power-wise > the Demon with this LT5?
It's not really necessary IMO, but it's an interesting thought.

Most of what I post is simply in order to correct information that is put out there by people who ought to know better than to put out false or misleading information. If I think something is true, I will be quite adamant in my posting. I try not to post speculation without also stating that I'm just speculating.

Very few of those Wicker Bills

Speculating of course The ZR will out perform anything out there with power than the Z06.

The ME will indeed be impressive but at what cost? Me I'll give it a few years to work out any issues, add a few new hoodies and avoid those insane me first dealer mark ups👍
Meanwhile a C7ZR might be a fun toy! If I had unlimited funds I'd have one of each model 😎🏁👍
