Team Owner
The ZR1 will offer two aero packages: a standard rear Low Wing, which delivers the highest top speed and helps generate up to 70 percent more downforce than the Z06’s base aero package, and an available two-way-adjustable High Wing that offers maximum downforce on the track for the quickest lap times — about 60 percent more downforce than the Z06 with the available Z07 Performance Package. All models also feature a Chevrolet-first, downforce-enhancing front underwing.
The adjustable High Wing is part of the new ZTK Performance Package, which also includes a front splitter with carbon-fiber end caps, Michelin Pilot Sport Cup 2 summer-only tires, and specific chassis and Magnetic Ride Control tuning for greater cornering grip.
Both of the ZR1’s wings are tied into the chassis, like the Corvette Racing C7.R racecar, for strength and stability.

Sounds logical, but - and there is always a but - many buyers are impatient and don't want to order a car, or the deal is better on floor stock, or dealers only order the more popular colors....there are presently many reasons why stock drives the choice vs true desire. If the "real" take rate for manuals was, say, 35% consistently, that is a supportable business case. But from a dealer's perspective do you stock an item that has a 65% chance of selling quickly or 35%? The choice the dealer makes is obvious. Stock the auto equipped cars; they figure the buyers that want a manual will order it and the dealer likely gets a higher margin on that ordered car.
A good example is the take rate of turbo F-150s vs the V8. I believe dealers were encouraged to push the Ecoboost over the V8. Truck buyers are typically resistant to change so there is no way they would eliminate the eight, at least not until they can be assured they are not alienating customers. Go to most dealers and there are far more Ecoboost trucks than V8s in stock. Did desire drive the trend or was the trend engineered by Ford?
We have used Grand Cherokees as our everyday grocery-getter forever it seems...the wife absolutely loves 'em and doesn't want anything else.
Jeep has always improved the breed with each generation.
I have always had V8s in my GCs, going back 20+ years and I'm more than a little partial to them.
However, after hearing good things about it, this time around I decided I would go with their V6.
While shopping online, I noticed the V8 Hemi is very hard to find.
I was quite surprised by this.
It's a wonderful engine, smooth and powerful, but definitely a gas-hog.
Ordinarily, I wouldn't care.
However, we are on limited income these days and the V6 just made more sense.
Like Ford and their Ecoboost, is Jeep pushing their V6 over the Hemi?
If seeing is believing, I strongly suspect they are.
Not necessarily a bad thing...it's also smooth and very quiet, with enough power to keep THE BOSS happy.
