2 more intercooler, 2 more radiators and a larger supercharger adds the majority.

Probably some combination of the slightly wider body panels, the slightly wider wheels, the larger blower along with its larger intercooler bricks, and the two additional heat exchangers along with their mounts and coolant.

I'll jump in here.... Bit disappointed as a few others are. Myself, I think the effect of the front aero almost makes the car look stretched. The first thing I thought when I posted the cover was how much the car resembled the Viper. The wing... well I just think they could have done so much better...

This is coming from a guy who fell in love with the Z06 (one of the first in Canada to get theirs) and has a first allocation promise from a Cdn Auto Group. As rare as these cars will be in Canada, and they will be, I have an allocation. The problem is that I valued that allocation much more before I saw these pictures than I do now.

Don't get me wrong... love the increased performance, new engine and so on. I don't know...maybe it is just the piks I am seeing. For now though.... still loving this sweet thing. If I get the Z..this becomes the wifes property.

If GM releases an insane Nurburgring laptime, I will attribute that to the softer dampers, springs and more downforce.
Yep, just like the C6 ZR1.

This will of course be the fastest Corvette to date in every category and likely the heaviest as well.

It will also put to the test of how quickly a RWD-front engine car can accelerate to 60 mph/100 mph on street tires with a manual transmission. I for one am looking forward to these tests.

And for the record. That burnt orange colour or whatever its called is by far the ugliest car on a Corvette.

I am hoping this car pushes down the values of C6 ZR1's as that is my goal.

Don't worry...just don't put fat-asses in it.

I know it is about XMas time, but I don't like the wheel design... do prefer the Z06 wheels by far!

Totally agree. The ZR1 rims are ugly and the z06 wheels are the best wheel I ever saw on a Corvette.

When the C7 Z06 first came out there was lots of negativity towards its "low" top speed and slower high-end acceleration past 120 mph. Remember the Viper and Hellcat roll race videos vs the C7Z.

This one more than takes care of that with the 210+ mph top speed, likely well over 130 mph trap 1/4 mile trap speed too.

I know it's not a drag strip car but I'm still surprised at the lack of appreciation towards this especially since it was such a negative talking point about the C7Z when it first came out.

So the GT2 RS 2018 makes 700 bhp and weighs in at 3241 lb , which is much less than the corvette .
The ZR1 has 750 horses and weighs 3664 i assume with a full tank of gas .
Power to weight ratio of the GT2RS is 4.63
Power to weight ratio of the ZR1 is 4.88
WE KNOW THE GT2RS DID A 6:47:3

IF the ZR1 is 2.5 sec fater than a zo6 at VIR so how much of a difference would tht make on the ring .
assuming the zo6 pulls of a 7:05 or 7:10 at the ring .

Will GM be releasing a "Ring" time for this upon introduction?

Back of the napkin math, I think the ZR1 should be around 6:55-7:00. That's assuming the Z06 runs about 7:10 with a factory driver. Could possibly even quicker than the 2.5 seconds at VIR suggests knowing how much time is spent at high speeds at the Ring. The added power, downforce, and lessened drag will make a big difference. Not only that, with the new cooling package, the A8 should be able to make the full run which will help tremendously as well.

Also, knowing Porsche, the GT2RS is probably making more like 750hp itself as they don't use SAE-certified ratings for their engines. The Germans never rate their turbo engines properly.

You "don't believe"? It's stated as fact. You forgot to mention the added weight of the bigger blower. I believe there are 4 additional coolers as well.

Fat asses? You put 2 men at 168lbs that reaches the 4000...

ME stands for mid engine. Everyone is saying the ME is coming out next year at will be around 150k...I don't think that unicorn will be 150k when the FE is that much

My 2015 C7Z was 3556 with a full track of gas so we're looking at right about 3700 lbs for the ZR1.

I think anything with the ZR1 name deserves a unique power plant...a bigger blower doesn't count.

That's what made past versions of the ZR1 cool and unique from the other Vette line up.
