The new ZR1 won't have front fender spats but why all the hate on the spats?

Spats have gone the way of the Dodo hopefully to never never return on any future Corvette product.

The spats on my Z are comically buffoonish IMO. Only part of the car I don't like.
I actually chose the color of the car in part to blend that **** in.

Thats why back in the day, I bought a black C4 to cover up the terrible cheap plastic trim that bisected the car.

I like the C7Z and think it's a great car but honestly, the spats have always been a criticism of mine. To me, they just look like a cheap shortcut GM took when finishing the car. Coulda done much better.

Ok I guess their are a lot of current C7 Z06 owners that don't like their spats. So it is not just non Z06 guys hating on the spats but I still like mine. I LOOK AT IT AS ANOTHER BLACK EXTERIOR PIECE TO GO ALONG WITH MY OTHER BLACK ACCENTS ON MY Z06.

It could be worse.

Melting Slicks
At the end of the day if your happy with what it is, then that’s fine.
I do believe GM realized how much they messed up by simply not having a fully flared fender from the start and I pretty much guarantee you’ll never see them again on future Corvettes.

No, it's an unpainted, raw piece of plastic that does not match the shiny metallic black (carbon flash) accents

Actually, they match the black accents of the rubber tires. Just don't put too much tire shine on or your tires will match the carbon flash better than the spats.

So I added a Jake medallions to go with my Jack center wheel caps and Jake valve steam caps!
Note they are perpendicular to the earth, just the camera angle!
Stage 3 Winglets and ACS Splash Guards Help Integrate the Spats, IMO.

Funny I thought I needed a small amount of black toward the rear. Did not know I was getting while top fender vents!

Yep, have to accept the Jakes you can get! Jake started with the C5-R and really the C7 Jake is a bit of a poser - but is acceptable! Have both.
Note, Jake Center Caps come with Black or Gray background as these that match my wheels.

they don't necessarily look bad, but I think many are put off by the fact that they should not have been used...was it really not possible for the designers to make the fenders just a tiny bit larger...like they finally did for the ZR1. Seriously now...
