ZR1 and GT2 RS

I'm not sure anyone would buy a $300k chevy corvette. Here's the thing- how good a product is, that is largely irrelevant. How it makes you feel is the powerful driver. Apple is the poster child for this. Same with Rolex. How it makes you feel owning it is the value.
If peformance dictated value, the corvette would sell for twice as much and quartz watches would sell for 10x a Rolex.

The facts are that GM dropped the ball with the C7 Z06. It was billed as the ultimate track car. It had overheating issues. Now the ZR1 is out, and I am sure that GM has corrected the problem. The ZR1 will demolish the GT2, GT3, etc. Wait and see!

Porsche just needs to do a complete makeover and jump into the supercar territory! They are already charging their customers for one!
What's interesting is that they are putting a slightly detuned version of the 4.0 GT3 engine in the '18 Cayman GT4. Apparently the turbo motor won't fit in the 718 chassis, where the engine is in a compartment behind the seats. :boggled:
I drove a manual trans Cayman a year or so ago. Neat little car, but underpowered and it had a sloppy shifter. But I'm sure the GT versions are very, very good.

@snorman I believe the Cayman already employs a 2.5 liter 4 turbo charged engine. Are you talking about the 3.8?

Scraping the splitter.
From what I've read the 2018 GT4 will get the 4.0 engine.

I really wish Porsche would stop withholding hp from the Cayman. Give that rig 550 - 600 hp and a pdk and it would be the shizzle.

That would be nice, but with the 3.8 liter na engine Porsche is currently using they can't get beyond 325 + lb. tq. which is pretty enemic. For me it was a drawback, and neccesitated keeping the engine on full boil all the time to maintain a high level of enjoyment.
