Amen. So true. Well said.

The GT2RS is a highly engineered track monster...and it's highly unlikely the ZR1 will get close. That said, I will buy a ZR1. It's gorgeous and fast! It'll look great alongside my Verde Mantis Performante and my 911 Turbo S!
I have to disagree with this. The GT2RS Ring time is very 'suspect' to me. As I've said before...let Randy P take them to MRLS (he prefers Porsches anyway) and pit them against each other. I think you're going to be surprised how quick the ZR1 will be. If I'm being honest, I don't think the GT2RS will be quicker than the ZR1 when tested head to head. Maybe in a straight line...but not around the track. Time will tell...but I think history shows us that when they want to, GM can make a pretty stout track car. I'm gonna say 1:29 range. I think the C7Z had 1:31 to 1:32 in it (right conditions) and GM says the ZR1 is 2.5 seconds faster around VIR....so figure 2s at MRLS...

I think they got up there pretty high, haven't watch them lately. The GT2RS at 297k I think is a pretty good buy but even if I had stupid money which I don't, I wouldn't pay over sticker for one.

How many people can afford the GT2RS and how many do you think you will see on the road? These cars will be snatched up by the car speculators and hidden away in garages.
On the other hand there is a good chance you will see a ZR1 out and about with the big wing and all the aero goodies on your local streets.
My point is why compare a car that is only affordable to a few immortals to a car that is fairly easily reachable to your average guy?

This board is the place to talk about the Corvette's. Glad you have it figured out how others should spend there money. These boards have a few of those too.

That's a big swing from a few immortals to car that is easily affordable?
That is a joke as the average guy is not even buying a ZR1!

It is all in the value you place on the cars. Everyone is different.

There are plenty of folks with 7-8 figures in the portfolio. That wouldn't shell even 150k on a car. Then guys with driving high dollar cars with cars payments.

Isn't the Zr1 755HP? I keep seeing references to 750 in this thread.

Spot on. Funny how a new Corvette brings out all the millionaire ballers who trash it, drive a base model, but can easily afford several F cars if they wanted.

Millionaire ballers? Don't they drive Lambo's Bugatti's ? Haven't seen any of those on here. They hang at the Lambo, F car, Mac Car Forum's.

I haven't seen one single post trashing the ZR1. There was one trolling thread but the mods closed. We talk about Corvette's here doesn't mean everyone is trashing the car.

The cries of "why don't we get the 10 speed" are pretty funny.

Look up transaxle lol.

Also the fact that the ZR1 can be ordered in an automatic convertible is hilarious. So many posers driving corvettes.

"I want a track car, automatic, convertible"🙄🙄

Just poking fun at critics whose defense against allegations of not being able to afford X Car is to rattle off about the ease of buying any car on the market, they just don’t feel like it. All you have to do is search some old topics of the C6, C6 Z06, ZR1, and C7 Stingray to see any new Corvette reveal (along with pricing) gets lots of hate on this forum. Give it time, you’ll get a “The C7 ZR1 is disappointing” thread soon enough.

Fastestbusa is right.

Defense against allegation's of not being able to afford the car? HUH?
Since no one knows who can afford what? Ever see the house Warren Buffett lives in? We already had the Zr1 is a fail thread and it was closed but it wasn't from regular Corvette member.

Busa is right? About what? Guys like might like their current car they have. So they didn't run and buy one because they couldn't like afford it like the rich Busa guys that is funny stuff!

Z06 owners couldn't handle the truth. Some owners..... not all, but they know who they are.

Its all relative........I think 125k is a lot more accessible than 300k+? Then the factor of knowing the right person who knows the right person to get on that secret list to be considered to have the honor of buying a GT2RS.
Hey and this is coming from a guy who owns three Porsche!!!!

Overheard in the Porsche lunchroom:
Hanz: "Hey Franz, I was thinking about another 911. How about we take a 911 Turbo S, TAKE OFF the all wheel drive and some other stuff, jack up the boost, add some carbon fiber stuff, and double the PRICE! We can call it a GT2RS"
Franz: "Hanz, you're a freakin' super genius. Let's do it. The faithful won't bat an eye"

Overheard in the Corvette lunchroom:
Tadge: "Hey Harlan, whadya think about taking a Z06, jack the boost up, leave all standard goodies on it, add some cool carbon fiber stuff, and raise the price 25%? We could call it a ZR1"
Harlan: "Tadge, what are you, stupid? The faithful will bitch that we're money grabbing jerks, and all the Z06 guys will hate our guts"

Why not compare the ZR1 to the DEMON, why is it always Porsche and what they cost.

It's always been Porsche... at least since the early 70's when I watched A&B production races.
