Tadge Shoots Off His Mouth Again By Knocking The Previous Car
Why can't he just let people enjoy what they have. Does he always have to do this? It's childish, immature and shows no respect for the people that bought his previous product.
Corvette chief engineer Tadge Juechter says, "after you drive this car for a while, a Z06 feels really sluggish, like it can barely get out of its own way."

Yea, Tadge and his team put a fantastic car on the street for us. And instead of celebrating the ZR1, we're arguing one little comment the Chief Engineer said.....FOR 6 PAGES.
We're done here.......this is ridiculous.

It's called Sales and Marketing. They've invested a decent amount of time and money into developing the ZR1, so of course he's going to pump it up in comparison to previous models.

GM is in the business of selling their new cars.
GM is not in the business of validating customer's previous purchases as that is counter intuitive to the selling of newer, "better" models.

I'm not saying it isn't better but have some compassion for all the customers that went out and bought your dream (ZO6) and paid part of your salary by buying that car. There are other ways of doing this without having the guy that just bought his brand new ZO6 sitting there scratching his head saying "WTF did I just buy"

I remember when I was a paper boy delivering the daily (except Sunday) rag to about 50 customers on my route. There were about 20% of the houses on my route who were not subscribing so I would go out and ask them every so often, hoping I would pick up a new subscriber (each subscriber netted me 7 cents a week in my pocket). I told my dad I was having a hard time getting new customers, so he asked me what I said when I knocked on the door. I said, "I deliver the afternoon newspaper that is just like the morning paper. You don't wanna get the paper, do you?".

No, its not. Manufacturers come out with newer and better everything on a consistent basis.

I learned decades ago that there will ALWAYS be something newer, faster, better and 'cooler' than what you have right now. In order to keep up, you either have to be very well off or be eternally in deep debt.
That's why, in my opinion, the best car in the planet as far as I'm concerned, is my little blue Z51 '16 Vette down in my garage. Sure, as far as the pecking order of C7's is concerned, it's pretty far down the list and with the introduction of the ZR1, it's even farther down right now. But i still love it all the same.
That said, it's still surprising to hear the Z06 referred to as 'sluggish'. I guess he'd call my car a POS sloth.

My point is why do they specifically have to bad mouth the previous car (and that is what they are doing) instead of just singing the praises of the new car. I think everyone will get the picture with just how good the new ZR1 will be without mentioning their other products. I don't understand why they have to knock their OWN product, just show how good it is by knocking OTHER company's similar products.

As much as I respect Tadge and all he’s done for the Corvette including the C7 which he finally got right, I’ve learned to never trust EVERYTHING he states.
Example “there will not be a C7 Grand Sportâ€
I’m sure he’s under pressure to promote the latest and greatest.
It won’t stop me from enjoying my Z51 Stingray.
