Thanks Tadge and team. You guys blew away expectations on the C7, love my Z51. The Z06 you guys produced is even more powerful than my Z51, but now, the ZR1 is the new king. But it's OK, not all of us are so fragile Tadge, and you're right, today you introduced a new "best" Corvette. And when the C8 arrives, that better be best. Or else, who in their right mind would buy your newest product that's not better than your old one. Perhaps in your C8 budget, you could request some cash to be set aside for mailing out one tube of Preparation H per every butthurt previous model vette owner (and apparently some who are butthurt without even owning a vette). Job well done Corvette Team, you have done it again!

ok so yours is a personal wish that has nothing to do with the professionals who have been making, marketing, and selling cars longer than you've been alive. Check. As long as we keep in mind that your opinion is an amateur one and that you are, likely, bereft of ANY professional marketing experience... Selling cars on top of that, then I have no problem with you.

GM doesn't need to meet your standard so unless you like being frustrated, which is TOTALLY fine if you do, you will just accept it. Just try not to be a ***** to other people about it.

Cheers...

Compare it to other cars in it's class not his own "son" sort of speaking. You never knock family.

I have a good deal of seat time in a C7 Z06, and every time I get back in my Stingray, it feels like someone pulled 2 plug wires! I imagine that the Z06/ZR1 comparison is similar. But I've never entertained getting a Z06....because my Stingray is more than quick enough for me.

I am shocked (but not really) that Tadge's comments have incited such vitriol. His comment (way back) about the C7 obsoleting the C6 started a sh&t storm that went on for months. Never mind that what he said was 100% correct (please, don't start, I had 2 C6's). They're all Corvettes, they're all terrific cars, buy the one that serves YOUR needs and appeals to YOUR required aesthetic. There's ALWAYS a faster car, there's always a BETTER car coming down the pike in 2 years. Enjoy the car for what it is.
I agree completely, great observations all. I've had many track toys over the years, but my priorities have shifted, and I am extremely happy w/ my daily-driver, street-only C7 Z51 convertible.

The irony of all this is that the top-dogs are usually the ones most likely to be garage-queens, and I think the ZR1 will become the top-dog, garage-queen for most of it's owners, who will never take it to a track. I now only want cars that I can drive every day like a real car without worrying about it.

In this thread OP is butthurt about having a car that more than half of Americans would envy just because and engineer said a new car is better.

Corvette chief engineer Tadge Juechter says, "after you drive this car for a while, a Z06 feels really sluggish, like it can barely get out of its own way."

He said an incredibly fast car HE DESIGNED feels slow in comparison to how fast this new car is. No one with two brain cells to rub together would take this an insult to the car or its owners.

You people act like he is comparing the intelligence of children or something, saying "this kid makes your kid look like a down syndrome chimpanzee" or something.

One of the dumber threads here in a while. That’s quite an accomplishment.

There is still one gentleman who needs to share his take on this and the thread must survive until he does. His will be the definitive pearl of wisdom to settle once and for all if Tadge keeps his job.

AMAZING REACTIONS,

Every new car will be better in some ways and not so much in other ways.

With the improvements in metallurgy and computing power I would expect every new Vette to be an improvement in most aspects from the currently sold version.

If and when the mid -engine comes out what will the comments be from previous corvette owners.

New cars will almost always be better than an old one. Technology, design, and engineering improves. If you're happy with what you own, why let anyone convince you otherwise?

10 year member and you still can't read or comprehend. I never said one of the things you mentioned. Never said I was butt hurt, don't even own a C7, BUT IF YOU READ MY POSTS you would have known that.

Yea, Tadge and his team put a fantastic car on the street for us. And instead of celebrating the ZR1, we're arguing one little comment the Chief Engineer said.....FOR 6 PAGES.

We're done here.......this is ridiculous.
