How many years do you expect the ZR1 to be produced?
Will this ZR1 be the least produced of all years previous? If so, how many do you expect?

I'm going to go with one model year. If they end the 2019MY the same way they usually do, that means it'll end in May of 2019. Which is basically 1.5 years away.

GM has a history of not “leaving out for sale ” any previous generation models when they introduce a new one. Best recent example, that even though we had the 638 ZR1 in the 2013 model year, it was totally discontinued when the “only” 455 HP SR was introduced.
Same thing is going to again happen. This time the ZR1 will be a one-year only wonder. “jvp” is again spot on.

I don't get why you guys are all assuming MY2019 is the end of C7 production.
If it was, what you are saying is correct. But there WILL BE a 2020 C7. There even might be a 2021 C7.

Mid-engine car isn't the C8. The mid-engine car is coming in 2020, we all know that. But just because mid-engine comes doesn't mean C7 goes away, in fact it actually means C7 stays on for AT LEAST another year.
You can't introduce the C8 and the Mid-Engine in the same year. Even without my insider information I know that. Y2XX is at earliest a MY2021, unless it gets delayed or cancelled.

You've still hit on the real issue. The key to the longevity of the ZR1 is whether or not the C7 is produced in conjunction with the Mid Engine. That would mean the Mid Engine (The Zora, let's pretend) is far more expensive than any C7, meaning the C7 needs to be around for us traditional buyers. That would leave a dual segment market. One is the $100K buyers (most of us) and the other is the $200K buyers (a few of us) That would be no different than any other manufacturer, whether it is Lambo or Porsche. Abject and total speculation on my part, of course.

What do you think the chances are that GM will do something radical and create two separate lines of Corvette -- a front engine and a mid engine line? Everyone assumes the ME car will become the C8, but I have a hard time imagining that GM will risk everything on the ME. Perhaps there will continue to be Corvette, a front-engine car, and a new Zora, a mid-engine car.
