Now that the ZR1 has been released who is buying one and how many will they sell ???

Unless I somehow have a chunk of money fall into my lap, I'll just wait and buy a garage queen, trade-in Z06 from a new ZR1 owner.

16 Vettes and counting…..
There's just not enough of a change in the ZR1 to get me interested.
If I didn't already have a C7 it would be a new experience for me and I'd probably jump on it, but I'd rather wait and see what's in store with the ME before I decide what's next.
I'm happy that they continue to develop the C7 platform, but 2019 is the 6th model year.....I would expect more of a visual and technological reboot by now. With the ME right around the corner, there is apparently no need for such an investment.

Tough decision. Pricing will be out soon. I could trade my C6ZR and Sluggish C7Z as I really like the ZR. BUT with the C8 so close and who knows what issues the ZR may have waiting sounds good. Right now escaping the cold North sounds like a better option so I can cruise in my SLUGGISH Z every day

I love my Z51.
But if I had whatever this car costs I'd buy one. No questions.
I'd get the smaller wing (so no ZTK), Arctic White (so no design Package), and whatever trim level I need to get all the 3LT/3LZ goodies. Chrome wheels too, because I love them regardless of the haters. Probably stick with blue calipers, but might switch to red. Depends on if they really use a lot of blue accents or not. Need to see the order guide to say how I'd theoretically spec it.
So if anyone want s to donate to my cause, you know where my PM box is.

Just wait til you hear that you have to buy Chicken Hawk tire warmers to prevent tire cracking below 70F. Or that it will only run 15 mins on 110 octane race gas on a 90F track before it goes into passive aggressive, limp mode. Or that the first pedestrian was killed when they were hit, flipped over the car, and were sliced in 1/2 by the Cuisinart blade in the back...
Ok, I'm mostly kidding... No, I won't be getting one. This like a Bugatti, or a Pagani, or Koenigsegg, or even a lowly MB AMG Black car, are just too much money.

IF I had the coin to buy one new I probably would. BUT I think I'll wait and see how the car is in the hands of the customer. Then when the C8 hits hopefully the used market will be a little more appealing and then I'll seriously consider.

where you can reasonably expect appreciation then you would think. Especially if you are willing to sell overseas.

I'm 59 so I doubt the Zr1 will appreciate in my lifetime. That said I think it will be one of the best Vettes ever if not the best. If I buy one it will be because to me it's value, right now, is greater than it's cost. If the zo6 had been what was promised I'd be buying a zr1 as soon as I could get my hands on one which is what I did with the zo6. I think I'll probably keep the zo6 either way but at this point I think a lot of people that would have bought will wait and see if problems develop with the zr1. Others that have to have the latest and greatest will take the risk and go ahead and buy one. If it's as good as it looks like it will be they will be happy they did.

That way you have the old and new
Then add the C8 best track corvette part trois....

The 2013 C6 ZR1's were in the $120k to $130k range and it is highly unlikely that this new ZR1 will be in that price range. C6 ZR1's were not a big seller because of the price and now the market is flooded with new and used C7's which does't help trade in values. How many buyers are going to spend $25k to $50k with trade to have a new ZR1 in the garage?

Anyone else find the "ZR1" script/emblem dumb?
Would anyone other than a Vette geek be able to decipher it?

Nope
I won't be upgrading to the ZR1 for several reasons:
It will be the loudest vette yet. I am working on an exhaust baffle so I don't get shut down at tracks with my Z06. Will they sell a 'ring exhaust package so it can be tracked?
I do like the wing but can't imagine how to stow the top easily with it in place.
The upgrade would be $50k for me.I will spend the $350 for the suspension calibration and just drive faster.
Extra 140lbs on the front end. IMHO the GS has better turn in and rotation than the Z06 because it is lighter. The ZR1 would be 240 lbs heavier than the GS which will be very noticeable. I do like the half inch wider front wheel idea though. C'mon Aftermarket???
I have a deposit for a C8. The boss won't let me have both.

Me too. But given the option to make a change to the rear end, I'd focus my attention elsewhere.
