Now that the ZR1 pictures have been released in DUBAI who is buying one or trading in their current C7 for one ? How many do you think they will make a year? Don't want to many on the road too make my C7 Z06 look REALLY SLUGGISH LIKE IT CANT EVEN BARELY GET OUT OF ITS OWN WAY AT LEAST WHAT TADGE SAYS ANYWAYS. Real hard being second fastest GM car ever built.
Second FASTEST was the C6 ZR1, second QUICKEST is the C7 Z06. Sorry, couldn't resist.
Already made a deal to trade in my 15' Z51 in on one. Life is too short to not life it fully, if you can afford it. Had a ZR1 previsouly and really enjoyed the car. No that I am retired I will have the time to track it when I want.
As far as volume, IKD, better to listen to the GM ecpert predictions. 2,000-3,000+
I could probably sell my car and finance it, but really the C7 is faster than I should probably be moving and I would be better off paying the mortgage instead (not to mention insurance is bad enough as is)
The answer is until the 2019 model year ends, not beyond that. Why?
Whenever GM introduces a new generations Corvette, all versions of the previous generation disappear, even if the more powerful previous gen model(s). Best example, is when the 455 C7 appeared in 2014, GM still sent to pasture the 638 HP ZR1 (and also the 505 HP Z06). Same thing will again happen when the 2020, roughly 500-525 HP, mid engine C8 comes out.

I really hope they price the ZR1 reasonably as I love what they did with the car. For me it will all come down to the numbers both in the cost and in the trade-in value on the 2017 Z06 I just bought earlier this year.
I loved being one of the first to heavily track the C7 Z06 and get to learn about it and share that with the Corvette community. It also made me a much better driver trying to prove to the naysayers that it was an incredibly capable track car. I hope I get the chance to do that again with the ZR1.
P.S. make mine Sebring orange so they can see me in their rear view mirror. I won't be giving point-bys.
