A8 in new ZR1?
I read somewhere today that GM has updated the A8 to shift faster like the A10 The article also said "yes this update will be available for current A8 owners". Did anyone here see this article? I think it was quoted from Tadge.if so can you post here or share link. I also continue to look.

Here is what I was looking for.
Transmission-wise, Chevy's 7-speed rev-matching manual will come standard, but GM has chosen to make an 8-speed automatic optional for the first time on a ZR1 — the new 10-speed from the 2018 Camaro doesn't fit. The paddle-shift 8-speed gearbox has received numerous upgrades to improve shift times, and Juechter says those upgrades will filter back down through the rest of the Corvette lineup.

The A8 has just had some hardware and software improvements made to it, and they do not just relate to improved shifting speed.

"The Corvette keeps the seven-speed manual, but buyers can also choose an automatic for the first time in a ZR1 with GM’s eight-speed with paddle-shift. There was speculation the model could receive GM’s new 10-speed co-developed with Ford, but Juechter said that unit doesn’t fit the Corvette architecture and was never designed to. Instead, they updated the eight-speed to shift faster."

Seeing the A8 unleashed in full anger for the first time on the tracks will be awesome. I for one can't wait for every record to be A8-based (though I'd love to see it go back and forth between human and TCU for a while). So far it's been crippled and hobbled by cooling and it's only now, 4 years later, that we'll find out what the computer is capable of at the road course.

But that's the Camaro... different chassis, much heavier, different gearing.
Hey, why isn't there a ZR1 'Ring Time thread yet? I figured that'd have the server half full with speculation by now.

The A8 shift **** on the C7 ZR1 is the same one that's in all C7 models .

It seems like GM's new way of getting money is to upgrade parts that should have been upgraded from the start. Especially Corvette owners, mention additional performance and boom there is the money coming in although most Vettes never see 75mph.

Question!?
From the new frontal air intake, I'd say yes. And I'm excited to see what it can do, although in the Camaro I believe they're still about equal when Pobst drove them, but the M7 had a fraction of a second advantage.

"Filter back through the rest of the line up" sounds to me like new production C7s of all models will get the updates eventually, but nothing in that quote suggests past C7s would be able to receive the update to me.

I can tell you my new 2019 Z06 A8 still has issues in regards to shifting. Really amazing to me after this long that the A8 trans can't/hasn't been programmed to shift dependably. I REALLY hate the A8 compared to the A6 in my previous Corvettes. Very erratic.... was in my 2017 GS also... I was really hoping the ZR1 programming/improvements would be "filtering down" to the Z06 but hasn't happened....
Such a great car diminished by a spastic trans......
