Unfortunately, even at this price point it still has the same cheap interior carpet.
Car looks great, thanks for sharing the images.

The first interior shot, that was the first thing I noticed. Beautiful car but the carpet stood out like a sore thumb

could care less about carpeting, I'm more concerned about torque vectoring for better handling.

Looks beautiful.

Thanks for the pictures and those holes in the front grills look like they could capture a small animal like a skunk.

What are the chances that this "EX" vin'd ZR1 ends up at Barrett-Jackson in the next couple of years?

^^^ More than likely GM archives in Michigan or the crusher! Don't think they can legally sell an EX VIN car.

Car looks great on the outside, but I agree interior fit and finish is still lacking.

Shame on GM!

I'll let the competition finish the shaming:

Wait...you're saying Porsche interiors are nicer than Corvette interiors?
Well, who knew?

I suppose you'll tell me Ferrari interiors are nicer also....

Lol, yes not exactly a revelation but GM still needs a little encouragement. I had a 911 and a couple of Boxster's and even the Boxsters had way nicer interior than my C6 ZR1 or the upcoming C7 ZR1. Boxsters aren't any where near as expensive as a ZR1, so there really isn't much of an excuse for cheap carpets and interior materials when customers are shelling out over six figures. It's like stocking the bathrooms in your mansion / estate with single ply T.P. Just Why?

If they put nicer materials in the interior and the car cost went up, you'd be the first to complain. The C7 interior update over the C6 was tremendous. Porsche and Corvette only compete in performance. No one will buy a $250,000 Vette, so get over it.

I'm not sure how you figure nicer upholstery would push the pice of a Corvette to a quarter million dollars. Porsche charges north of that for some of their cars simply because they can and people will still line up to buy them anyways.

I'm not complaining about the ZR1s rumored price and I'm not hating on Corvettes. I was born and raised around Corvettes and I've had a few myself. My C6 ZR1 was a performance bargain and I'm sure the C7 ZR1 will be as well. I just refuse to believe it's the performance bargain it is simply because they saved a bunch of money on the interior. Surely they can squeak a few dollars out of the budget for some nicer upholstery without doubling the price.

The C6 interior was an embarrassment (but not bad enough for me to not own 2 of them). That said, I've spent a good deal of time in a couple of different Boxsters (friend's cars), and while their interiors were clearly better than a C6 (doesn't take much effort there), I didn't feel they were as nice as my 2LT level C7. I should point out that both Boxsters did NOT have all the crazy upgraded/Alcantera/etc interior packages, just the stock stuff. The C7 carpet comment is funny and shows how different we all are. I actually like the C7 carpet, it is substantial, doesn't stain as easily and doesn't wear if you look at it (like the C6 carpet)....

I do wish GM would get away from their current obsessive (IMO) mixing of materials/textures/colors in their interiors. Just go buy an Audi and copy the interior! And while I'm on it....I wish they would make the outside seat back bolster (by the door) out of leatherette rather than leather. That bolster takes a lot of abuse, even if you're careful on ingress/egress. Leatherette would hold up a LOT better.

I'm simply pointing out that the only cars in Porsche's current lineup that can compete with the ZR1 (GT3RS maybe, and GT2RS) and those are $250k cars. You can't post a picture of a GT2RS interior and say that Corvettes should look more like this.

Might be speaking out of my *** here, but IIRC, the difference between the cost of a Porsche interior and a Corvette interior is in the hundreds of dollars, not thousands.

Seemed low to me too, but I read it somewhere......

My guess, is that the reason they don't upgrade the ZR1's interior over the base model is because they don't have to.

I think the carpet is the biggest tell. the other materials suede, leather, buttons feel on par with zee germans.

I think you're right. The carpet is pretty bad.

you don't needs to spend 250k on the GT3RS to have an interior that look that good...all 911 interior are basically the same and can be optioned out...you could simply have a base 911 with some interior options to achieve this for much less...I think that was his point

Default Tesla Roadster Super Car Announced today

Leon Musk introduced the new 2 door 2 seat Roadster. This can get 620 per charge. Get ready for this. 0---60 1.9sec 1/4 Mile 8.9 sec. Just a matter of time before Porsche, Ferrari McLaren Corvette & others will say good buy to the internal combustion engine. If the 620 mile per charge holds up the rest will need to follow quickly.
It's hard to beat instantaneous torque.
