Yep. Add to that, they delaminate quite easily. The Corvette spec Cup 2 has less water channeling than other Cup 2s, but overall it doesn't have a lot of thread depth nor water channels.

The other bit I've noticed with Corvette spec Cup 2s is that they are too stiff (run flat) to keep contact with the ground in bumpy high speed sections. That makes them tricky to drive compared to a radial slick or even non-runflat Dot tires that have more passive damping.

They are just not available in many sizes, and are being replaced by the new Corsas which have only a few sizes. No experience with those new ones.
I loved the Corsas on the 'Vette. Fast at any temp, more passive damping, quieter, great in the rain. I switched back to Cup 2 before to get rid of the car, and promptly spun out on a cold morning.

I think it's fair to say there are a lot of Corvette fans that are probably surprised that a time was never released for the Z06.
I would speculate the time wasn't released nor will it be because it isn't what GM hoped for and obviously isn't proud of. Guessing it overheated or lost power reducing the ring time. The new ZL1-1LE was released! 7:16.

Maybe GM will let a new Z28 set a sub-7 min time before the ZR1......

Default Now that the Corvette's back on its wheels! ;)

CURB WEIGHT (F/R DIST) 3,837 lb (55/45%)

http://www.motortrend.com/cars/chevr...t-test-review/

And an 110.7" WHEELBASE

Amazing Fundamentals!

The CC brakes, LT5, and A10 have to be worth 15s! More New eLSD, and electronic chassis control updates! Remove and strip 100 lbs!? Bigger aero!

And the Mustang's coming!

Cheaper to make, vehicle utility, price point competitors, sales volume, and That mid-engined - for another half hearted C7 attempt!?

What car are you talking about that has an LT5 and a 10 speed auto?

I can't figure out your last jumbled mess of words. Is there a sentence or thought in there? What does "...and That mid-engined, for another half hearted C7 attempt!?" mean?

Evaluating the Camaro programs ability to move forward with existing Technology toward that sub 7s Ringtime is easy!
All things considered it's easy to see GM's continuing focus that way!

Computer technology dialing in more of the run of the mill cars is an easy and cost effective concept!

No sh*t, Sherlock.
As if you're the only one on this forum, or the face of the planet, to be able to deduce that Team Camaro is endeavoring to make the car a better performer and "computer technology" is integral to that increased performance.
Any 10-year old with a Car & Driver magazine subscription and a few minutes of reading time could draw the same conclusion.

Team Camaro going after that sub7 is the New news being addressed! Albeit It's embarrassing if you are recently somehow connected in such a failed endeavor, and mindset (as I recently indicated)! (His favorites - )
Ironically, I've realized you indicated I was stupid for reiterating the simplicity of a Camaro sub7 build!?
YOU are always good fun, and above reproach!

But you're actually not "recently connected" with anything, anywhere, ever.

That McLaren Senna addition...will be STUPID quick on a track. 2650lbs...800hp...and built for the track. The NFGT = no chance. ZR1 = no chance. GT2RS = no chance.

The only question is, will it ever see the track? Will they ever run it at the ring or elsewhere? Most people are tossing around their million dollar cars on track.

Think about how quick the 720s already is...then take out 300-400lbs, add 70 'McLaren' HP and a track suspension. WOW.

"WOW" is right.
I hadn't heard the specs on the Senna yet...

IIRC, 2650 lbs. is the weight of GTLM cars.
McLaren must be getting ready for a Le Mans campaign.

That 2650lbs weight claim is the dry weight, so curb weight will be a couple hundred pounds higher but still incredibly light!

Default High Tech Too!? ;)

Good thing it's light!?

https://www.motorauthority.com/news/...n-differential

Anyway, interesting, and it did work in that special P1 run, I assume! The GT2 RS does the same thing into turns, but, locks the diff. straightening out!

GTLM Limited Slip Differential!
