Default overheating???

If most of the test mules at the ‘Ring were auto, it’s likely the problem was fixed.

E85 won't solve engine cooling temp or oil temps issues (or lack of appropriate cooling), otherwise people would be using it by the gallons and not spend time and money troubleshooting it and replacing parts for better ones to cool correctly
Plus if you look at the physics behind engine power and heat production, it is simply not true.

I would not drive a GT3 if you gave me one! It is the most hideous looking car on the planet.

The ZR1 will not overheat. It has more coolers. And has more front end open areas. They dropped the ball on the Z06, not the ZR1!

shouldn't it really be zr1 vs gt2rs? vette has more hp than 2rs so why not? gt3 is more competition for the gran sport and gt3rs vs zo6

Z06 Auto had overheating problem... not every Corvette C7 model...

And ZR1 has addressed that.....

Same as Porsche fixed GT3 RS engine so it didn't blow up and catch fire....

**** happens with all manufactures car....

My experience is that Corvette community is more frank and open about it....

Oh and as previous owner of a C7 Z06, 4000 miles and almost 2000 miles on track i can attest to it overheating when going 10/10...
Going 9/10 it wouldn't overheat and then i was at pace with 991 GT3 cars on slicks.. me on street tire :-)

I love Corvettes but I don't think it's that at all.

GM has for years now known about issues and not offered owners the fix/solution. Basically pretending nothing is wrong. All the way back to the dropped valves in the C6 Z06 LS7's in 2006-13.

I am sure there are some C7 Z06 owners that have overheating cars that now look at the C7 ZR1 and are pretty upset. With the proper cooling and solution they THOUGHT they were getting when they purchased "the most track capable Corvette ever."

Do all C7 Z06s overheat on the track ? I thought it was just the automatics ? (just asking)

Gotta love it, another thread for the Porsche humpers who slobber over the GT3 with its Automatic only format. Fact is the almighty GT3 nearly gets its *** kicked by a Mustang on various tracks. This is something that is almost never mentioned or discussed. The ZR1 has yet to be tested anywhere and the Porsche trolls have the GT3 as a runaway by any metric, how idiotic is that. Maybe the boys over there is Stutgart or wherever they come from should figure out how to build a 911 for $150,000 grand that can whoop a Mustang. What a joke.

The ZR1 is going to destroy the GT3, even with the RS engine. Not just beat it. Destroy it.
The question is the comparison between the GT2 RS and the ZR1. Those cars on paper are VERY similar.

That is a pretty bold statement BUT I am OK with it. This is the United States of America!

Here is a pic of my GT3 RS. Think its ugly? Hey its cool if you think so. I also am a C6 vette owner. Love pretty much all sports cars.

No AFM or wet mode! A8 Hot Laping!? M7 capability, and gonad intensive!

Nick,

Hey man, long time. Your GT3 RS is an amazing machine. I didn't know you had bought one. I'm currently in a C7Z and it's a good car.
It would be nice to have a GT3 in the garage as well.

I'm curious why it's on what looks like a AWD dyno AND the front tires appear to be driven. What am I missing?

Rick

P.S. Do you still have your ASA race car?

^^^ Porsche computers get crazy if you dyno the car and all wheels are not moving at the same speed.

The Z06 puts down quicker laps than the GT3RS. There is no way a GT3 was a ZR1 benchmark.

YO Rick!
Hope all is well at your camp!
Yeah they do alot of AWD so it has ability to do either. Tracked RS but car needs a track alignment! Fabspeed headers gain some nice TQ and HP.
Rick I still have ASA car and looking to sell it as I went out and bought this! Great car to do track days etc without the maintenance of a ASA car. Granted ASA is ALOT of fun as they move around sooooo much. Looking to sell it. I have 18" flow casted lighter weight rims and R7 with GM recommended alignment Brey Krause harness bar Hawk D70 pads. I love 6th Gen Camaros! These cars are very very competent off the showroom floor. I know you are not familiar with lap times @ NJ Motorsports Park Thunderbolt course but last week I ran low 132.XX with the chicane. Buddy in T1 car runs with Phoenix racing and sure you know Andrew Aquilante. PM your cell.
