Default MSRP or less?

Any forum dealers plan on selling these for sticker, or less, at launch?

Being a production-limited model, I know it seems to be a laughable question, however, I am genuinely curious.

FYI to any dealers with incoming allocations, I'll be in on purchasing one if I can find one without mark-up.

My understanding is Les Stanford never adds a markup to any car they sell. Downside is their list has to be a mile long. This is just what I have heard, no mark up but can't confirm. Has to be other forum dealers with the same policy but I would suspect if your not on a list by now by time you get your turn discounts will be the norm.

Late last week Classic Chevy Sugarland (Houston area) had several un-spoken for allocations for the first half of the 2019 model year (March-July 2018). Initial indication was they will not be charging a mark-up but you should confirm with them directly. I would have a hard time paying the outrageous markups some dealers are asking, especially in Houston when other dealers just down the road are charging MSRP with confirmed allocations. Many speculate the ZR1 will be discounted later in the 2019's production however I find that to be a long shot.

If they start playing games rationing and adding ADMs, I'm out.

Since I'll be trading in my 2017 Z07 I also have to consider how much more that car will depreciate in the next year if I were to wait for the ZR1 to start getting discounted. Then of course there's the fun at the track I'll be missing.

The famous balancing act of deferring gratification and paying less versus enjoying it now. As I am 70, and have lost friends due to illness (seems like an increasing rate every year), I treasure my excellent health.

My motto is, don’t take a chance on the future not being your future (car accidents, medical, and who knows what), and if you can afford it now, go for it.

As a friend’s SO said to him as he was considering waiting for another year to get a bigger discount on his C7, “what do you want to be, the richest person in the graveyard.”

I too have a C7 Z06 and am waiting, but not for a ZR1, but for the 2020 ME.

Les Stanford may not mark them up but they do beat you up on trade in's. When I was buying my 2013 ZR1 they really low-balled me on my 2008 Z06. I had check book in hand ready to buy but we couldn't reach a price on the trade. One week later I found a dealer in Ohio that gave me $5K more for my Z06 sight unseen and matched their ZR1 price.

That holds true with most of the largest volume Corvette dealerships showing a big discount over the smaller dealerships. Les Stanford also quoted me $5000 less for my trade on a car that I was interested in. I ended up buying locally for a car that wasn't discounted as much but got 5 grand more for my trade. It ended up being $3000 less out of my pocket for the same car.
The super large Corvette volume dealerships are great if you are buying on a clean deal....not so good if you are trading and you may do better locally.

I think Kerbeck does that kind of bait-and-switch stuff on trade-ins too.

With the information you have does this mean the plant will be shut down again for the ME change over or will it be produced somewhere else? If GM is planning a ME was the production line set up for it and what about the new platform where will that be made. New cars are usually planned years in advance and all we see are spy photos and never any information on how it is going to be manufactured.

It's not bait and switch when they tell you straight up what the price of the car is. No dealer gives you the lowest price on the car and the highest price on the trade in. Either you get more in trade and pay more for the new car or you get less for the trade and pay less for the new car or if you are smart...

You pay less for the new car and sell your creampuff garage queen privately and get top dollar for it which is what I did....although my creampuff garage queen was 7 years old with 115,000 miles on it. lol

Kerbeck told me straight up that I would be better off selling my car outright. I sold it right here on the corvette forum in a day. Smooth transaction purchasing and smooth transaction selling. Win/win for everyone concerned.

All of this is assuming GM will make more than 2000 models as many speculate they wont. If its a 14 month production run, forget about discounts.
