Default SF Bay Area dealer mark-ups

I have been calling around to see who has allocations and how much over sticker they are asking. Here is what I found so far.

Boardwalk $50k with 15 on the list
Momentum $25k with 2 on the list
Dublin $25k
Abel $0 with 9 people on the list

Exactly, these people play these games, it is up to all of us to see they lose.

These unscrupulous, greedy dealers just love it when they deal with nervous, anxious Nellies who have to be the first in their town to have a certain car. Like PT Barnum said.........

That sounds good, unfortunately, I do not have one of those Montana LLCs to own cars through.

I went to Momentum specifically for the ZR1 and was told 3 allocations, 1 sold. Asking $50K markup which is insane.
I was also let to believe that I cannot use the GM Employee Discount which I have access to, nor can the ZR1 be leased, supposedly as the Z06 can't be leased either.
Haven't owned a GM car before so first exposure/experience. Are these accurate facts? Haven't checked any other dealerships yet.

If I could lease it, pay MSRP without markup, and ideally use the GM discount, I'd be happy to get on the list.

It's typical of GM not to allow employee discount on certain vehicles and new models. Ford does the same with SVT products.

Initially surprised to see Boardwalk on that list but then remembered Tim Boone is no longer there. Anyone paying over sticker is just not very smart IMO. Good for Abel. Certainly backs up their reputation.

To clarify: GM's Employee Discount is allowed on all vehicles in the line-up. It's specifically up to the dealership in question as to whether it's accepted there or not. GM doesn't force the dealerships, which are independently owned/operated to have to deal with the paperwork, etc, involved.

GM Financial may NOT lease Z06's but they can be leased. Ally leases Z06's. They rest of your comments I have no comment about.

It's California my friend! They get ripped off on everything!
Taxes everything they do is high priced!
Small 1,000
sq ft home might be 500,000 and more. Everything is high. So mark-ups are expected. All with too many people! Doubt boardwalk will sell 15. You are better off to go to a forum dealer!

I lived in San Ramon for 28 years.

When I went shopping for my 2005 C6 Z51, Dublin had some of the first ones in CA & wanted a $25k markup. They wouldn't give me the time of day when I went in the showroom.

I bought my car the following week at MSRP & the dealer paid for our flight to Santa Barbara to come pick it up,

F^CK these dealers with the audacity to ask over MSRP. They should never be allowed to advertise on this site.

Let them find their idiots on eBay & Auto Trader.

Real easy to get on here and find a Dealership that is not marking them up I always make a note NOT to even consider a place that does that for future purchases
