Insuring a 2019 ZR1

Thanks for the reply, does the policy cover any 9-5 commute driving, weekend (non car show/event) driving, etc? Ive heard NCM insurance will not cover the car if you make a stop on the way home from a car show, etc! That just seems ridiculous to me

Progressive is the way to go. I have a 2017 z06 with highest coverage options at about 2k / year. At 23 I was expecting much worse!

I have Erie, they insure in PA only, the funny thing is I own a Caddy SRX that was their "high performance OPTION model" that costs more to insure than my hellcat, Z06, Jag and Escalade, and almost as much as my turbo s, that cost 160k more. My Z06 is $515 a year, hellcat $475. I was told my new ZR1 would be about 100 more than my Z06. Of course I am OLD

We have a 9-5 Endorsement that allows up to 2 times per week to drive it to work.
Our policies cover the Occasional Pleasure use (ice cream, cruising around the country, dinner with the wife or car buddies).
If you have a specific question let us know.

I have Traveler's on my C6 ZR1 and Sierra Denali. No issues when I called them to add the ZR1, premium went up about $130/month. Very reasonable.
Financing the ZR1 was more difficult. The majority of banks considered it an "exotic car" and didn't want anything to do with it. They didn't even have it in their system to put a value on it. It took several phone calls but I finally found a bank to do it. Sounds like GEICO is telling you something similar.

The quote was based on total miles per year, in my case @5000 miles for each car. But I have two Vettes so I share the driving between them.

My Insurance in Michigan can not check on quotes without a Vin #. They are an independent agency who shop a lot of companies. Are you call able to get quotes without a Vin#? The quote from NCM was $3800 a year!!!!!

Try a credit union. Best rates I've have found. Also tell your dealer you are shopping around for the best rate and let them shop around for you.. I have Erie insurance and they told me that they would just have to call and get an exception. Didn't think it would be a problem. I had everything lined up and could of had a ZR1 probably by the end of March. My insurance agent recommended I wait one more year until my son is able to get his own policy because Erie would get me pretty bad with him on it . We are waiting for his 2 tickets to drop off before we make the move.

I just switched to Travelers Insurance. They stated that when I add the ZR1 that it will go up an extra $120 a month. USAA quoted me an extra $270 dollars per month which is why I switched and the only thing that changed is that I chose the 1k deductible. I think this is cool..I definitely do not want to be limited to the amount of miles I can drive the car. But that works for some...for me it would not.

I just talked to a ratings specialist with GEICO (my current insurance carrier) and he said GEICO will not insure a ZR1 of any year as it is labeled "High Performance".
Current ZR1 owners, who insures your car? Do you mind sharing your ballpark premiums and driving record/family situations?
C7 Z06 owners, who have you had luck with and feel charges a reasonable premium?
Thanks in advance!

1000 dec 100/300/100 $455 a year full coverage on my 2017 Z06 with Amica. 2 homes with them and 5 cars insured 800 credit score.
I carry a 1,000,000.00 dollar umbrella as well.
Always check the T’s & C’s details very carefully as many umbrella policies require a higher level of car insurance level than some drivers are used to.

Cross posting this because this is being asked in many C7 forums. I find it very difficult to really compare things in a threaded discussion like this. Not everyone posts the same information and there are a lot of factors to consider when it comes to insurance.
So I put together a Google Sheet. If you're comfortable editing a google sheet, it looks like it is starting to shape up where it could make comparing things a little easier (at least for me) as you have a lot of relevant info like location, age, deductible amounts, coverage amounts, etc....
Feel free to help build it out a little more....
