My guess is Jay Leno, I only say this because one of this garage shows he had a c6 zr1 with vin 0001 or something like that. That's my only reasoning have no idea if it's true or not but he'd be a good choice.

The front grill is total Ferrari influenced from various models. The side air scoops look hot and are 100% functional. The way the C7 Z06 should of looked.. has a 250K look. The spoiler is to keep it from floating. Providing 600lb down force at 150 mph IIRC. Bolted to the frame unlike other rear wings. There's a smaller wing for the waxers that have to have a new ZR1. It's not built for the drag racers with NOS and slicks. Wait for the sub 7 minute 'ring time.

All the kids will be fightin' then. Would I buy one if I had the extra cash? No. I'd go for a C6 ZR1. Would I buy one if I won the lottery? ex: $10-50 million. ABSOLUTELY. I'd own a dozen cars and trucks. Funny how Corvette people criticize new Corvettes often. Yes there have been more issues with the C7 and it was rushed to production but things are working out after 4 model years. More than a lot of other forums. They are all Corvettes in any style, model, HP,gen, or color. More positivity and less negativity. Mama said, if you can't say something nice.... If you hate it, thank God you are not going to order one.

I think Jay Leno drove the Carbon 65 on the auction block that sold for 1.3 million, he could afford to buy both the Carbon 65 and the ZR1 both were VIN 0001 if he wanted too.

I missed it, I was told the carbon edition that sold for $1.3 was a Z06? If so why did it sell for more than the ZR1?

Probably because it is a 2018 and you could drive it home from the auction today, the ZR1 will be many months........

The Carbon 65 was auctioned off with President George Bush Jr., and Jay Leno on stage .
Both signed the car. Both had a prior drive in the car.

The charity was Fmr Pres Bush's foundational charity.

The winning bid includes a golf game with both Leno and the Pres.
(no, not kidding, golf is part of the deal).

BJ is a circus, simple, how many other auctions do you see where bidders have a f'kn rye and coke in their hands? Do you see bidders at RM Sotherby's wearing a f'kn Hawaiian t-shirt and flip flops?

Typical reply from a typical......American. Just so you know, the sun doesn't rise and set in your backyard.

Personally, I think the bidders should have a bottle of Jack in their hand or a 12 pack of Coors on ice next to their seat if they so desire. These guys are dropping serious cash on some of the most desirable and collectable American cars ever built and millions are raised for charity. This is capitolism at its finest and the rest of the world should be envyous.

America is fkn awesome. Bottoms up.

Why are people so upset about donating to charity? What if someone just donated 2.5 million without getting a car? Would you still be pissed.

Some people are so damn salty. If anything you should be upset they didn't go for more. It would be great for the charities to get $10M+ per car.

You know they make lots of different flavors of ice cream...or maybe in Canada they only make one kind

That's the great thing about it...you get to buy whatever you want and not give a flying f*ck what anyone else thinks about it...Let me tell you this...MONEY TALKS...not the rum and coke, not the Hawaiian shirt nor the flip-flops.

If you were selling a $10m car (at RM or BJ) and no one was interested but some 'American' dude in flip flops and a Hawaiian shirt who had all cash? Let me guess, you wouldn't sell it

Get over yourself. I've been to the Pebble Beach Concours...it's nice...it's also OLD and Stodgy. I go to BJ every year...YES, it's a sh*t show. Similar to the Masters vs Phoenix Open.

Guess what? I appreciate them BOTH for what they are. God Bless America.

BTW...while waiting in line at BJ....I'd guess 30-40% of the people around me were CANADIAN. Can't imagine what they like so much about America for them to all want to visit in the winter.

Kinda sucks those Vette's you like are AMERICAN, where the sun rises and sets in our backyard and are sometimes driven in flip flops.

There were many Canucks at BJ buying 6 digit cars. Relax. When the baby boomers all pass this auction will become extinct sadly. For the most part anyway.

Hey man. Your facts are off. Leno isn't golfing nor golfs period. It is a charirty tournament that Bush's. Only Bush signed the vette in a few different places.

Hey man. Don't slam my Country for one guy from Calgary's comments. I know the score. Car auctions are mickey mouse when it comes to measuring a Country for this and that. Who the f*ck cares anyway?

The Carbon Edition got all the attention and money since it was for their charity and the ZR1 lost the momentum from the bidders. Why did they use the Carbon Edition over the ZR1?
