Default Tomrorow/Jan 25th ZR1 Ordering Info. Issues???

We have some ZR1 buyers especially looking forward to tomorrow’s constraint reports, for it will be the first consensus for the model. Might we have any constraints on the ZR1? We have had zero constraints on 2019 SR’s, GS’s and Z06’s since the model year ordering opened up. But might we be that fortunate tomorrow for the ZR1’s too?

Based on two different sources saying that there will be a constraint on 7M’s, there could be a problem in orders having one from proceeding forward. Since it is the identical 7M ordering option code as all other C7 7M’s, doubt it is the transmission itself, but maybe the interaction with the ECU for fuel economy and/or emissions and/or related software issues.

We will also know some of the parameters of how GM is “doling out” ZR1 allocations? Will dealers be told only their allocation for the first consensus, or might they learn their allocations for the second, and maybe even for the third DOSP too?

Of extra special interest, we shall learn the first target production week (TPW) for the ZR1, e..g, early, mid or even late March?

Tomorrow we get the first hard facts as to how the ZR1’s initial production is scheduled to roll out.

Confirming...no 7M availability initially. Predicted ~3 week delay in availability...no other constraints

Do you mind sharing the source of the info? That will be very disappointing for us 7M order holders!

Those ordering the PBC option will be constrained for several months.

That is interesting news, for NCM announced last month that the PBC option for the ZR1 will start next month.

It may start being accepted as an option in the order, but until the master builders in PBC get more experience at assembly of the new LT5, they are not allowing customers to build yet.

Along these same thoughts, there will be no factory tour ..usually included in Museum Delivery...until January 2019. This came directly from Museum Delivery Staff

Disappointing that I will not get to tour the plant expansion but understandable due to the mid engine secrecy. Would have been nice if the option's price was reduced to compensate though!!

Unfortunately, I cannot disclose, but it is from within GM (not a Dealer)

To my knowledge the dealers have not received the finalized pricing for all options on the ZR1 and are not yet able to provide hard sales price figures for orders. Are we expecting this info tomorrow as well since the first orders will be picked up?

Further to Elegant's question, I assume they did not have any information other than the 7M was constrained? No reason to site by chance?

+1, that is what my dealer is saying too, when I discussed it with him yesterday.

Right, and the option to come watch your ZR1 be built is also no longer available, like when I did my '12 ZR1.

This is accurate, but not unprecedented.....initial orders for MY18 and now MY19 Corvettes were placed and picked before pricing was in the WorkBench system. I do not expect it to be different than what GM has indicated elsewhere.

I was specifically told (keeping in mind I have written confirmation of the ~3 week delay on the M7) that no other options were constrained for "round 1".....

GM has publicly confirmed that the only restraint is, as we knew sub rosa yesterday, the 7M trans. It is listed as “less than four weeks: startup restriction.”

Additionally, the first TPW for automatic trans orders accepted this consensus is March 5th.

The roll out for the ZR1 is slow. Just confirmed with a couple of top allocation dealers that their ZR1 granted allocation for today’s consensus was a very small number. Going to be a while for everyone’s car to be picked up/go down the assembly line.

This is consistent with Kai’s Lexington, KY radio interview two months ago in which he said that the ZR1’s production rate would be below 200 units/month.

Dealer’s only got their allocations for today DOSP. Hopefully next week another ZR1 consensus opens.
