That was an I'm impressive rack performance for the zr1. GM chassis and powertrain engineers are world class leaders.
I believe the zr1 was the 8 speed automatic no less...
Holly crap!

With a mid engine coming soon, is this ZR1 is going to make it a hard sell? Could they actually be holding back on the ZR1 so as to be able to surpass it with a mid engine ZR1? I still think the M.E. will be developed solely to satisfy a M.E. demand regardless of lesser performance.

I think the initial ME car will be a mid-performance car, and 3 to 4 years out, will be a ZR1 equivalent car.
GM does not normally come out with their max effort performance on the initial launch of a new model.

Satisfying to see a front-engine Vette crush all those mid-engine "supercars." It seems that engine placement isn't everything at elevated performance levels. Between stints at crushing track records, you can tour the USA with and have lots of space for actual luggage.

ZR1 have an unbelievable time at VIR for a production car. I an amazed how easily it blew the doors off the Porsche 918. It's a $900,000 car with about 900 HP.
I still don't know what to make of the Ford. Is it a race car with some fancy fenders? Or is it a street that's fast?
I was going to wait for a year to see how the car performs in the real world. But with a super time at VIR it sounds like it may be ready.
