Default M7 constraint info here

Please post any M7 constraint info here.

I heard that the M7 would be on constraint for about the first 3 weeks of ZR1 builds.

What have you heard?

What is actually the issue with M7?

Post all info here.

Since the trans as the same ordering code (MEK) as the 7M for the Z06, and it is not Z06 constrained, I believe it has nothing to do with the transmission itself, but peripheral factors, e.g. software integration with the ECU, trying to again reconfigure fuel mapping to avoid emissions and/or to avoid the gas guzzler tax.

When GM first placed the M7 constraint nine days ago, they said in writing, less than four weeks.

Do you know - is that "less than four weeks" from the date of the document (9 days ago?), or from the beginning of production on March 5th?

I guess that it must be from the start date of production. If it's four weeks from 9 days ago, it will be over before production even begins March 5th, so I guess it's from the start of production or it wouldn't even be a constraint.

At the Corvette Corral briefing by Harlan Charles, he said that they hadn't determined yet whether or not the M7 will have a gas guzzler tax.

I interpret the statement as "between this date and the concensus 4 weeks from now, you will be able to order a ZR1 with the M7". We didn't have any orders taken this last concensus so either the next one or the week after should allow M7s to be picked up. It's anybody's guess when they will be built and delivered though.

In the first two ZR1’s consensus, we have only had 45 GM-accepted, ZR1’s so far — and they were all in the first one.

Hopefully, this coming Thursday they open the flood gates much wider!

Ordered my zr1 first with M7 and then this very issue came up....decided to change order to automatic given dealer couldn’t tell me the length of the delay....in the end automatics are taking over....but sure like the feel of driving manual transmission.

Talked with my Dealership today and they had a manual order go through with no constraints, build date in March.

2500 as of today, no TPW yet. MANUAL Coupe, Watkins Glen, ZTK, 3ZR

Hopefully we will learn more tomorrow about the MEK constraint!
