Default Chrome vs Black

How many new ZR1's with Chrome and how many with black. I went with Chrome on both red ZO6 2015 and on the black ZR1

Silver for sure. Black possibly. Chrome never ever no way. You will never see chrome on Ferrari, Lamborghini, McLaren or any other high end exotic.

There were a few running around Daytona Beach on Rolex weekend. Some may have been polished but regardless they were sporting shiny rims.

What is it with Florida and chrome wheels. I've heard that in the past. Must be a bling thing.

Must be the over 60 crowd that is buying the New ZR1 with Chrome rims. Only kidding I am 52 years young and I like Black so it must be a over 60 thing.

Considering how far black wheels go back, I’d say they’re far from a fad.

Additionally, no one is forcing you to get black wheel....this world would be a pretty boring place if we all liked the same thing....

Here, here... Whatever anyone chooses for their ZR1 (or any other Corvette) is fine with me. It’s their car; it’s their money.

Are we really gonna debate this again?

I’m with elegant.... get what ever you like on your car.
The part I find frustrating is some that post here can’t simply state their preference without saying derogatory things about the things (and any one who likes those things) that they don’t like.
Doesn’t seem to matter if it’s wheel color, size of wing or any other factor.
Can’t we just state what we like about our choice and not talk back about other people’s choices and by proxy...them

Exactly. Not to mention, a Corvette isn't any of those noted exotics... nor will it ever be! My Chevy SS and Volt have polished, and although they've a shine, up close, as with almost all polished, they look like hell. My wife's old Mini Cooper S had clear-coated polished and they were the best I've ever seen... seen tons of polished in my life too. My wife's Volt has partial clear coated silver, and they are pretty decent as well.

As for my next Vette, probably a 2019 Z06/Z07, I'll only run chrome! Some cars, Imports and most exotics, can fly without chrome, as they just look better that way, for the most part. The Corvette looks okay with black )depending on exterior color, while sitting still, but start rolling down the road and it just looks like a black blob with all rotor and caliper in view. I only run black on one car... my police car!

A bit off topic but will have to say that this seems to be true on occasion and difficult to sometimes state ones opinion when asked only to create a conflict... unfortunate

Words I try to live by "Those that bring sunshine to the lives of others, cannot keep it from themselves"

The ZR1 in that it is a bit of a different beast in relation to the stingray and therefore maybe attract a different buyer demographic which would then impact wheel selection. This was my original thought

I'm getting the standard alloys although I believe the black wheels have been a big seller on C7's. There was a black and chrome wheel back in the day that I liked...can you say 1987 Buick GNX...

Whatever floats one's boat. Black, chrome, gray, silver, blue, green? The King will be bad-assed regardless of the wheel finish. It will also be very difficult to make it look bad.

GM is so far behind on wheel finishes. There is a whole universe of finishes available beyond just black, silver or chrome.
