So, who predicts that the ZR1 will have a "secret" function no other C7 has?
By this I mean, active systems (beyond magride/ELSD/etc). Will this Corvette have some type of active aero we don't see...either behind the bumper to direct air, or underneath?
I feel that GM may have snuck something in there to gain some straightline speed and maybe we see a little GEN1 active aero approach.
The ME car will very likely contain some type of active system. Early active system's (Veyron, LFA, Porsche, etc) had the basic rising wing, but we saw further evolution of active systems just opening and closing certain airflow pathways (Ferrari 599) with active brake ducts and a "blown spoiler"
The Huracan Performante has a very static looking wing and front splitter...but it has tricks enclosed. The wing doesn't physically move, but it's still active....same with the front splitter.
This video is very good to understand how the thinking toward active systems is really evolving. What doesn't look active, is active.
I'd say 50/50 that the ZR1 has something hiding...thoughts?

C8 will. Not the ZR1 however. It's much easier to integrate into a new platform then retrofit an existing one.

There is a reason that GM is quiet on the C8 right now....it's called the ZR1..OK, could be more reasons but you can bet that is one of the main ones. I would guess that the marketing team knows that anything that would help the ZR1 sales should be out to the public.

It'd be possible to integrate something active in the undertray or beneath the front bumper. It's definitely possible.
GM wants a Nurburgring time, wants to validate the car on the world stage and high downforce equals big top speed penalties...active systems make both worlds possible. The Huracan put down the blazing lap that it did, solely because of the active system.

You know the Huracan was an existing platform when the performante came out, correct? It's a series of simple ducts and valves.

Then we put in the same sentence as a "Huracan"?

I would assume that if it was equipped w/active aeros, then information would have been released by now, but we’ll hopefully know for sure in the coming weeks...

It's crazy the amount of hopium on this forum. Remember all the talk about this being a DOHC motor, and it really being an update to the 2019 Z06?

Some of you guys on here are funny as hell. It's like you drive the forum with angry faces looking for some negativity to spew. Active aero, in basic form is as simple as actuators and servos...it's not reinventing the car.
And yes, I can use Huracan in the same example, because I think it's pretty clear GM has hit above the belt because it has found ways to do things that manufacturers at the next level are doing, in a more budgeted and basic form.
It's strange how posing a question inspires no theoretical ideology, but instead an outpour of negativity and naysaying.
Let's quickly return to the wax/polish/xpel threads and photoshop renders of C8...have a good day.

I think the car is what it is and will not have any secret functions to be announced later.
But, maybe the HP/TQ numbers are significantly underrated!
A much larger and more efficient blower than on the LT4, dual fuel injection systems, different camshaft, crazy MPH reported at the VIR track, specific ZR1 exhaust and only 105 extra horsepower???

Word has it that if you take off the rear wing and front splitter the car actively takes off like a SpaceX Falcon Heavy Rocket!! NTHSA allegedly has a secret video of this very peculiar feature discovered during road homologation BUT deemed it too hazardous for the public disclosure at large...

What brand wax are you going to use on your ZR1?
