ZR1 displacement on demand and auto on off.
I heard from tadge’s twin sister Madge that the lt5 will have a special zr1 dod version that goes down to 2 cylinders when cruising And the automatic transmission equipped cars will have a start stop feature for stop and go traffic to minimize the gas guzzler tax on automatic transmission cars.

Uh...LT5 does not have AFM at all. Not sure where your information is coming from. GM does have a new cylinder deactivation system on the way, Dynamic Skip Fire, but that is debuting on 2019 Silverado/Sierra trucks later this year. Dynamic Skip Fire can shut down as many as 7 cylinders during optimal situations.

All Gen V V8s except the LT5 and manual Camaro ZL1 with the LT4 have valve lifters that can be deactivated on half of their cylinders by an active fuel management system, while the lighter conventional hydraulic roller lifters used on the other cylinders activate all 16 of the LT5’s valves.

LT5 Engine Build
To be more clear, I did my Engine Build Experience last Friday at the PBC in the Corvette Plant. There were two more scheduled this week and they are only doing LT5's for now. Part of the reason (at least what they told me) for not having the cylinder deactivation is that there was almost no room to put the controls under the supercharger. With sixteen injectors, it was pretty cramped up under there and probably not much of a cost versus gain payback. I would recommend the Engine Build Experience to anyone that can do it. Seeing a complete LT5 next to the LT4 is almost shocking. It is so much taller, doesn't even look like a similar engine.

How does AFM work on the Z06 with out those pesky AFM exhaust valves that close when going into 4 cylinder mode? I also thought the A8 ZO6 didn't have AFM and thus no torque converter issues? straighten me out on this, much appreciated.
