I've got to disagree with what Mr. Gizmo stated as what stock c6z and stock c7z will run at the 1.5 magnum mile. I've been there as a spectator and as a participant and the best I saw from a c6z stock was around 175-178 and stock C7z 178-182.

I know having a hellacious tailwind and cool temps will do wonders there, but it would have to be a bunch for a stock c6z to run 196mph in the magnum mile imo.

When? where? 1/4 track? prepped? stock?

Fastest stock M7 on fast list is 128.

there is a forum member AZDave if I recall his handle correctly that ran 196 with a 100% stock c6z In the mojave magnum 1.5 mile. He might even have video of it. He might have a c7z now.

My stock C6 Z06 ran 173+ at Mojave Mile (modest quartering head wind) and did indeed do 196.5 stock at the Mojave 1 1/2 mile, but I have been clear that was on a day with very strong tail winds June 2-3, 2012 event in class A2. I estimate without the wind it would have been around 187.

At Ely, NV at 6500' it did trap about 1 MPH faster with HCI ~600 rwhp than a stock C7 Calloway Z06 that had run 203 at the Mojave 1 1/2 mile.

I do not have a C7Z. My HCI C6Z is entered in the Magnum April 15. I just had Josh Bs Mamo ported stealth MSD intake installed this past Thursday. I had hoped to report on a back to back same day dyno runs of the cleaned MSD vs Mamo MSD, but we ran into problems that day and possibly when it went in to CPD back in December for a mis-fire. Right now we are hoping it is just the 3" ARH catted mid-pipe that has plugged cats. In a couple of weeks the new 3" ARH OR x-pipe will get installed. At the same time CPR will do a leakdown test to (hopefully) confirm there are not other issues and then do a dyno run to compare to my Oct. 2017 post ARH 2" header install that was 605 rwhp.

I hope this corrected info and additional info is acceptable on this C7 ZR1 forum that I check nearly daily.

Very true..but you can do it with less HP in a purpose built high end Corvette over a heavy brick challenger. Weight and aerodynamics give cars like the Z06/ZR1 huge advantages over traditional muscle cars. Camaros, Challengers, Mustangs, etc.

No problem, we all try to recall what we read as best we can. I try to make sure what I post is accurate and accept corrections when I am wrong. You do a good job at posting good info.

I value these forums and try to provide good info on how various mods work out. Right now I am hoping all will be well with the car for my April 15 MM runs and will provide feedback (C6Z forum) on how my goal to break 200 go.

I'll also provide an update on the C6z forum of the 25/40 rwhp drop we saw from the Oct. dyno run to the Dec and last week runs. We are hoping that me short shifting when I had a mis-fire at full throttle/4K rpm in a road course event due to two cracked spark plug wires may have dumped fuel into the cats, run them hot and caused them to clog up. That is probably the best case result.

Big HP to break 200 in the mile, real good HP, low weight and good aero and gearing to do it in the Mojave Magnum, a 1 1/2 mile event

I still maintain on a "normal" da day at the Mohave magnum mile, no STOCK c6z will be breaking into the 190mph range. It will take some very unusual circumstances and a non stock c6z to accomplish that.

Like I said in the post above, with no wind I would have expected about 187 when I was stock, for the 1 1/2 mile trap. However stock with the strong tail wind I did 196.5.

See pg 2, 5th line down., three passes over 195.

I find it interesting how many folks don't understand what downforce can do to top speed.

Well damn, the ZR1 is just running out there all ***** nilly and owners are just about to get their's. Seems we won't have to wait too long to get some action with this one. Coming out with a bang! Big Nasty's brother has arrived!

Sure sounds like it's shifting quicker than the Z06.

It was reported to be a 15-18 mph direct cross wind at Victoria airport yesterday.... Far from ideal conditions.

As I'm sure most of you know, wind direction and speed plays a HUGE roll in Land Speed Racing.

Stock C7Zs have been 185 mph on this same track with a 10 mph tail wind....

Can't count the hero passes for comparison purposes.

The zr1 sounds like an automatic and also sounds like it has a taller 1st gear then a c7z06 a8. Doesn’t sound much different the a c7 z06. Or look that much different.

Default Short shifted?

Seemed to me he was gingerly exiting the start. Certainly, he would have been once the wing came off, even more.
