Sebring Orange ZR1 on deck...not a fan
I was in my dealer this morning after getting the Magnetic Ride Control update, and asked my service advisor if they'd gotten any ZR1's yet? He smiled and responded with, "I've got one under lock & key...and I've got the key"
I greatly appreciate the opportunity to see a (pre-sold) ZR1 first hand. I am a HUGE fan of Orange Corvettes(I'm driving a DSOM Z06 Vert)....but, after seeing it first hand, I'm not a fan of Sebring Orange or the ZR1.
The 2019 ZR1: I know the stats. Amazing. Mind blowing capability, but sincerely, unless you intend to track this car, it looks garish and ostentatious. I get it. The spoiler and ground effects are functional, and I hope they've figured out the overheating issue with the new front end and 13 radiators.
Sebring Orange: Its flat and loud, if that is possible. I keep hearing you have to see it in person, but its just meh. Its not as bad as Inferno Orange (aka; Campbell's Tomato Soup), but it is off. That and its a few shades off from the calipers and orange trim (looks like DSOM). As a fan of Orange, maybe my expectations were too high, but I would not order this color.
Just my $.02, but as she sits in Sebring Orange on the 2019 ZR1, I am not a fan.

Call me crazy, but I never liked the way the ZR1 looked until I saw these pictures! I can see the radiators inside those huge cooling ducts, and some of the proportions of the car better than other photographs I have looked at. It's starting to make more sense now after seeing these pictures. Even in the orange, it's starting to grow on me! Thanks!

The press photos made it look smoky and metallic. In real life it's safety vest orange. I still like it, but I'd like the darker, metallic version better.

As the saying goes, "Beauty is in the eye of the beholder". I love the look, with one noticeable exception.. the side vents.. I am sure the engineers designed it that way with a purpose, but, ugh.. I am sure some people love them so refer back to my original statement.

Now you did it! Be prepared for the color defender's! Who swear by the color. I have to agree the resale would be hard for the sebring Orange.
Not a color I would buy either. But to each his own but with this color you would definitely own it!

Those photos aren't even close to what the human eye sees. It is most definitely not flat, and the metallic is very apparent in sunlight.

Thanks for posting this for us. I too am withholding judgement until I see SO in person. One of our car club members just took delivery of a SO Grand Sport this morning that I'll be able to see in a few weeks time. My wife loves orange, but whether or not she likes THIS orange only time will tell.
PS: I'm sticking with Admiral Blue!

The press photos made it look more like McLaren's Volcano Orange.

All personal taste . . . I've really disliked the last 3 Corvette oranges, but love this one.
To the "someone will buy it person," Mike Furman told me SO was the #1 color for ZR1 orders thus far. It has also proven to be far more popular than expected on all C7 models, since it became available for order in November. None of the previous oranges did nearly this well, and this is the first "true orange" in a long time.
The OP pictures aren't even close to the actual color. Neither are most of the press photos I've seen, especially the one that appears in this thread.

Don't hate the color but i think (from pictures) the low wing looks much better. I will reserve final judgement until i see one in person.

Not a fan of the front grill, etc. Color is okay but not sure I would like it long-term.

Doesn't bother me. Colors are a personal preference like any other of the C7 options, but as we have all seen on here, there's too much
"my opinion is the only one who's right"
I'm waiting to hear a " I wouldn't own a C7 in any other color...."
Seems like we're about to get to that point.

"In honor of jpee"
Indoor, it is a more subdued orange, but it looks more like a "true orange" than the other tints and colors of the recent past orange Corvettes, one of which I've owned. It is a tough color; either you like it or you don't. Lot of people "like" orange ---- on someone else's car. That's ok, too, as long as it's available.

Absolutely, it's all personal choice. I just rarely see it photographed accurately, and it's one of those tintcoat chameleon colors that cameras have difficulty capturing the way the eye sees them.
I totally get it's not for everyone, but trust your eyes, not someone's forum photos.
