It's a track oriented car. I'd be way more disappointed if the laptimes don't produce the results rather than the 1/4 mile.

Weird forum sometimes....

You must be thinking A8!

Sorry, I've been down in the Caribbean and only occasional wifi.
Didn't record any of the racing that weekend. There might be some YouTube videos of NMCA Bradenton out there that might have caught the Trackhawk and Demon.

That was the Z06. Now even more weight out front and same gearing
and more rubber on the front. It will not be deep is the 10's nor upper 130's.. Highway monster but not a great 1/4 mile car! The A8 will be better.
The A8 cars reportedly will run 10.6, I doubt you will ever see a stock M7 car with OE rubber do much better than 11.0's. For gods sake, if you even think of running a ZR1 down the 1/4, get a A8 to save the embarrassment.

I really don't understand this train of thought.. Several people put the C6 ZR1 into the 10's on stock tires. The C7 has over 100WHP more with just a minor weight difference. I guarantee I would put one into the 10's within a few passes on any decent track and DA. I'd put money on it.

1/4 mile times are a place where the new ME C8 is going to be FAR superior to the C7.

Expect the 1/4 mile times of even the base model C8 to be astounding, if other ME platforms are any indication at all.

The C7Z manual has run in the 10s stock so why wouldn't the C7 ZR

FWIW These are street cars.
130 mph in the quarter is good, yes?

I'd be pretty happy with that, even w/ a bad launch and all.
What cars do 140 or 150 in the qtr?

I would like to see a totally untweaked in any manner C6 ZR1 with a decent driver on a 75 degree day, fully heated engine, with average track prep, on OE goodyear tires , run 10.90's.

The only non-hypercar in the 140's is the McLaren 720S.

The Ford GT and Gallardo Perfromante are in the mid 130's.

The GT2RS and Ferrari 488 Pista should at least be in the high 130's on street tires, no prep. Most likely they'll run away from the ZR1 past about 120mph. Then again, you're not driving away without paying at least $350K for either.

Yes you will but it will be high tens where the A8 would be low 10's
C6ZR1 is a lot lighter car. Mine never made 10's
Slightly faster stock than my Z06 but after just a Halltech on the Z06 the tables I feel had turned.
The ZR1 A8 will not be disappointing! The ZR1 M7 will be killer on the rack.

Every ZR1 stick or auto made from Chevrolet will run 10's easy. It's all up to the hero behind the wheel.

Same goes for the Z06 stick or auto.

I'm really disappointed that the ZR1 is not really that much faster than a ZO6 especially when you have to pay $40,000 extra !!!!!!

MPH isn't what really counts in a 1/4 mile drag race, its ET, or how quick the car is, not how fast. For an example, a buddy of mine has a 2013 662 hp Gt500, with stock OE tires, the car runs 11.80's 124 mph.
I have a 69 chevelle that runs 11.40's at 117 MPH. ET wins.

For somebody to say that the ZO6 feel sluggish he must be medicated.

At the track when the faster car sometimes loses. You can hide a slower car with a fast 60ft at the track. That gets exposed on the 3 honk race! Traction and 60ft is the 1/4 mile race

A front engine design can't afford enough rear weight bias to truly put that much power down from a start, rolling or otherwise. At speed, the extra horses and down-force come into play.
