Now, let's see if they publish a lap time.

The ZR1 won’t overheat, so a time is coming very soon. Count on it!

Don't forget, Tadge CONFIRMED the Z06 ran a time that would be release, but I think that due to pending litigation of false claims the car was track ready, they pulled back on it.

I believe the Z06 ran a sub 7:10 by Mero. The Z06 can do a lap without overheating...there have been multiple B to G laps and Sportcar magazine did a hotlap, which includes the outlap. The Z06 didn't have an overheating problem there, it was an internal decision to hold back the time.

Considering this is just an industry pool day I doubt they’ll publish a lap time within the next couple weeks, more likely sometime in June based on when they released the ZL1 1LE record time. They’re likely getting in as many practice laps as they can before they get their dedicated days later on in the spring.

Tadge stated few times Nurb is not a priority. Couple that with Chevy pulling out of Europe few years back and I wonder if there is any ROI in doing the Nurb. Maybe it drives some of the UAE/Kuwait/oil rich market...?

Kudos for spending the testing big bucks for the brand!

If history is any indicator, don't EXPECT a Ring time for the ZR1...

No ZR1 callouts on the hood either. It is still a very real ZR1 though. Check the front fascia, body panels, hood, wheels and wing. I don't think they would go through all that trouble to "fake" a ZR1 lap. Other forum members would be more familiar but I don't think it's uncommon to have some accouterments missing from prototype or engineering vehicles.

So....I guess I will stick with my Z06 then. Z06 driven by a fast journalist at 7:14.

The bigger the track, should result in a bigger gap. ZR1 mowed the front straight 20mph faster, and the back straight 10mph faster.

Using all the track, in literally any car at nearly any track, is key to a fast laptime.... don't matter if it's a Corvette, Miata, Porsche, or a whatever. Anyway, I was hoping the ZR1 would at least be low 7's.... hmmm.

Looks mean as shyt tho... saw the Sebring Orange at BJPB over the weekend. This one was well-spec'd fully loaded with the kitchen sink.... 149k msrp I was told. Yikes.

Exactly.... the track. Last I checked, the Nürburgring (Nordschleife) is a true race track. The holy grail of all tracks. And the ZR1 is supposed to be a bonafide track car first & foremost, but then again it's usual MO for the large majority is cars & coffee, etc. so I guess Ring times won't matter. Just sayin' the truth here...

Anyway, for what it spits out on paper I am honestly disappointed it didn't crack a sub-7 let alone low 7's.... it's still very fast but for the pricepoint it arguably makes the C7 Z06 a "better" deal.

Still a pre-production model (no ZR1 badges on the hood and the driver's side front intake is missing one of the black accents) but I'm pretty sure these are still industry test days, which means this isn't when anyone is going to be going for THE run. 7:12 is still a good time for any mere mortal, though Jim Mero and the ZR1 are both capable of more.
