Default Which to get - A8 or M7?

If you are going to track it and street drive it, which should you order - The A8 or M7?

I love driving a manual vehicle, so that’s what I ordered. I drove the A8 Z06 at SpeedVegas, and it seemed to do the job around the track.

Go with your gut

What do YOU PREFER ?
I'm never going to be the level of driver where the advantage of auto matters. M7 is more fun.

I ordered mine in the M7 variant as I want the full driver experience. I just flat out have more fun in a manual....even with all the traffic in my area.

That's the trouble you have to choose! The M7 is more fun but is dead meat at the stop light. The A8 is easier to go fast. But doesn't have the sports car feel of the M7! Tough call!

This really is a personal preference item. The only advantage to the manual is for extended heavy track usage as it does not create as much heat as the automatic. The auto will be faster in all cases.

100%. When I bought my previously owned 2016 C7 Z06 with an A8 auto tranny I knew within about 2 weeks that i made a BIG mistake. Driving a manual tranny in a vette or other traditional sports car is just WAY funner than driving an automatic tranny.

Automatic because as we age our leg muscles are the first to go or weaken. Ask any orthopedic surgeon.

As long as a manual is offered it's the only choice for me, I am sure at some point there will be no more manual, just like my Porsche, of course the PDK is pretty good

But continued use is like physical therapy, will keep your legs strong. So then the M7 is the healthier choice!

Living in SoCal the freeway traffic is horrendous, based on that I'm going with the A8 just like I did with my Z07, and really didnt mind it at all

I have both examples of the Z06's in the garage. Forcing myself to get the A8 out today since it been sitting more than a week while I daily drive the M7. M7 is much more fun. The A8 doesn't have the sports car feel!

Auto is awesome for consistant 1/4 mile and also the fastest, also if you get stuck in traffic often. Also the auto has the remote start option that is stock I believe. The manual is def more of a hands on car as mentioned.

What they said above really sums it up. If you want drag strip car get the auto. If you want more of a challenge you get the manual. Just depends how involved you want to be with the car. I have owned both, and I enjoy the perks of both options so to me, its 50/50.
