I thought the Shadow Gray actually looked deeper that Watkins Glen Gray. It's a very classy new color.

As to answer to the first of the two questions in this thread, was the ZR1 coupe revealed in LA, and shown in many places since, Watkins Glen Gray Metallic?
NO!
As to answer to the second of the two questions in this thread, was/is the ZR1 coupe revealed in LA, the new gray — which we today learned is officially called Shadow Gray Metallic?
NO!
I talked with Harlan 1 to 1 today and when I asked him these two questions, he smiled, and said, “NEITHER. He said “that the ZR1 coupe revealed in LA and shown in many places since was/is not Watkins Glen Gray Metallic, nor was/is it Shadow Gray.”
He went on to add that it was supposed to be Shadow Gray, but it ended up being a tweener color.
So bottom line, every one of us who made a guess it was WGGM or a guessed it was/is the new/today announced gray, well we were all 100% wrong — both in this thread and in the earlier one on this same question.

One of my earlier comments was that the LA ZR1 wasn't WGG. I got that part right. My "reasonable deduction" that it was the new gray was both incorrect and correct at the same time. Yes, it was a new gray in the sense that is wasn't WGG, so it must be a new one. No, it wasn't the new gray in the sense that it wasn't the exact gray revealed at the Bash today. Fun times, my friends!

For those interested I did some pshop work prior to GM finally updating it's BYO website with Shadow Gray. Time will tell if mine or theirs is more accurate. I do know their other color illustrations are ****-poor compared to the real colors. I used the published pics of the Shadow Gray pucks next to WGG ones at The Bash.

Palantirion, is that first image the Shadow Gray and the second the WGG? OMG that first image is SUCH a beautiful gray-blue. I love my WGG GS, but dang dude. From someone that was hooked on, first Electron Blue (C5) and then Le Mans Blue (C6), I "settled" for WGG in 2017 because it was too hard to find the Admiral Blue when I bought the car. Now I wish I waited for that Shadow Gray.

No shadow gray cars on the street yet? Is this color shared with any other GM cars under a different color name?

After having plenty of grays. The WGG is easy the best I have seen and many others feel the same way. Look at the sales numbers #1 seller on the Z06 in 2017. SO it is a true statement not a hysterical one.
They replaced with a blue-gray that is rather bland. Hide and watch it will never match the sales of the WGG.
