Is ZR1 really just 1 second faster than Z06 in Nurburgring?

..... which means its barely as fast as a 500hp .2 GT3 and not even close to the NA GT3RS even having 250hp and twice as much as torque? How can that be?

I believe the current Z06 time is approx 7mins 16 secs
I believe the current ZL1 Camaro time is approx 7 mins 14 secs
I also believe the Z06 time is at least 1 yr old

Laguna Secs and Willow Springs first!
Build up the rep a bit then pass it off to Sports Auto for their run. Done!
Anyway, just basing that on the R&T interview.

No. I seriously doubt it.
- 2 seconds quicker at VIR
- 3 seconds at Road Atlanta
On a huge power track that values brute power and downforce like the Ring...expect an much, much bigger gap.
Reverse those.
C7 Z06 Z07(magazine): 7:13.9
Camaro ZL1 1LE(factory): 7:16.4

My guess is that it will be at least 10 seconds quicker, as it is reported to be approx 2 seconds quicker around Virginia Intl. Raceway with Randy Pobst as the driver...a much shorter track than The Green He’ll Track

Who cares about Ring times? It’s marketing. The ring is a validation tool to show the cars weaknesses and strengths. You will never get that time. I don’t know the ring time for any of my cars past or present. I don’t care. It’s bar talk.

Who cares about ring times? Who cares about 1/4 mile times? Its all relative performance. Its a way for me to judge zr1 and compare it against cars it competes with. Its all about prestige. If ZR1 did do 7:12, 1 second faster than Z06 when the 500hp GT3 did 7:12 not to mention 525 hp GT3RS doing it in 6:56, its embarrassing if you consider ZR1 has 50% more HP and 100% more torque not to mention much more aero.
considering GT3 which did it in 7:12 costs 150k vs zr1 costing 140k (in ztk trim), the argument for zr1 being best bang for the buck is utter bullshit as well.

get over it bro! It’s a BS report! A dude stood on the bridge and clocked a time, no video to show what was happening on the massive track. Last I checked it’s open to manufactures so you have no clue how many Ford Focus, etc were in the ZR1’s way slowing them down. Fake news
Also, the ZR1 was the only car on the track for the time that was reported.
There is no way of knowing what the time will be when (if) GM ever reports the ZR1's time, and you sure have to think it will be faster than what has been identified. But, if you think the Corvette team had the track to themselves on a perfect weather day and they weren't trying to set an official time, you are lying to yourself.
