Default Make the ZR1 lighter...

Anybody have any good ways to do it? The car is a little on the heavy side. It would be great to lose 500lbs, but half that would be ok.

Well most Americans can afford to loose a few pounds. That is the easiest place to start. I have no idea if you are one of the most or not, just saying.

Lighter wheels, non-ZP tires, Antigravity battery, Akropovic exhaust, race seats before anything radical.

I was down 110lbs with these but then added 45lbs 6 point rollbar in chromoly and only down to 65lbs now.
New year resolution will be 10lbs off the driver down to 179 from 189.
HRE R101LW with non run flat cup2’s -45.6lbs
Akrapovic Evolution Exhaust -25.5lbs
Main cat delete -7lbs
Battery -24.8lbs
CF Halo, A Pillars, underbody braces -5lbs
Titanium Lug nuts -1.5lbs

Light weight seats -60
battery -25
akra exhaust -25
wheels -25
cat delete -7
lightweight hooker blackheart headers-20

After that you will need to start doing things like titanium lug nuts and replacing random steel bolts with titanium ones haha.

Losing weight over the rear wheels seems a little counter productive to me. I'd put my money into C.F. wheels before Ackra exhaust or battery. I'll be 20 lbs. lighter in April cause I just finished up the last of the wifes Xmas cookies.

As with most things in life trying to do a dual purpose mod is only half way decent for either one. To lose weight the right way for track is to simply rip everything, EVERYTHING out of the car; carpet, seats, windows/regulators, airbags, headsup, A/C ducting, radio, etc....
Replace with full cage and fire suppression. That would be a real track beast. If you want to be able to drive comfortably on the street I would just leave everything alone. Actually, get yourself a track prepared C5 and keep the ZR1 stock for nice comfort. The ZR1 is still fun on the track, just not as fast as a well prepared C5. Of course, the difference in the performance of each depends heavily on which track.

I'm more interested in for a street car stand point. Keeping the "nice amenities" but losing some lbs. Guess my problem is coming from a 1,000 hp c6 zo6 street car, to this one. I love the zr1, but looking at its non american rivals, it could benefit from weight reduction.

I been keto for a couple years now. Dropped 45 pounds in no time. Went from 185 to 145. Then started working out, now stay between 160-170. Which is where I should be.

The weight savings of going with Akra full exhaust is 34lbs. I just went thru this and weighed everything. Xpipe is 16lbs lighter. Slip on is 18lbs. Total weight saving is 34lbs

Thank You for that. I felt like it should have been lighter but couldn’t weigh it my self so I was going with their web site measurements... Do you have the actual weights of everything for my excel spreadsheet?

I know one good way you could drop 1600 pounds off your ZR1 - a different body.

Michelin Sport Cup2 ZP are some of the lightest tires you can get.

any hellcat (4440lbs) and GT500 (4170lbs) owners will be more than happy with the weight of your ZR1

uh, those cars are in a lower league. Sure they have the power but the vette has always been on another level. Higher level. I love the new gt500 but mustang owners need to realize this. I know the corvette owners already do.

If you try 400 LBS you can easily remove it.
I removed about 550 LBS from my Z06
