Nice. Guy buys a rig specifically designed and marketed to whoop azz in the 1/4 mile, and it gets ripped in the 1/4 by a rig specifically designed and marketed to whoop azz on a road course.

That's gonna leave a mark.

There isn't much room for error when these two cars line up. This is a prime example of what happens when the driver or the car slips....... or just make a mistake. The pressure was on the Demon.....supposedly the race belongs to them at the drag strip.

We had a demon at our track rental today running low 10s without the trans brake. It's an impressive car for factory trim.

I am going to just point out that the demon was either not using drag radials or had a very poor inexperienced driver. Look at the 60 ft times, the Dodge was very slow and the vette was very fast. The vette had drag radials to pull that 60 ft time. Just goes to show you how important driver and equipment can be. I would not expect to see similar results with equal drivers and drag radials.

Need to compare apples to apples

That was a race regardless. Just give the winner Farmer credit when due. Furthermore, I believe the Demon comes with drag radial from factory. Most people know what the Demon runs in the 1/4 mile by now. The race could have went the other way.

That’s 27.8mph on the back half, I think the ZR1 has a bit more MPH left in it too, pretty crazy, things awesome!

Demons aren’t being represented properly, they are pretty potent cars but if you don’t have the know or skills to drive it correctly u won’t get the intended results.

Too bad the Demon lined up next to farmer on that day, with that driver, with that launch, running against that ZR1. He also probably forgot to use the correct key and brush his feet before getting in. Great way to represent the Corvette Farmer!

Well apples being equal what would the outcome be? One the Demon comes on DR's, it has a transbrake and the car is setup to drag race. So stock in other wards, what would the outcome of this race had been if the Z had a looser converter and a transbrake along with a tank of 100 octane and race calibration. My guess, is the outcome would have been the same, the ZR1 will win. Demon is just too heavy to be a contender with a car matching its HP but way under weight. So in the arena of drag racing the Demon is supposed to be King, but it just got dethroned, so what if we now went to where the Z is supposed to shine on a road coarse. I think for the dollar value, the Corvette is an absolute beast and all performance car company's should continue to take note on the Corvette. It has been beating up the competition since the 60's and no doubt will continue as we see here.

Demons come from the factory on Nitto drag radials.
