OK, so I get it that the ZR1 scares those guys. But my wife had never driven anything more capable than an V6 Eclipse, and now she drives the Z06 at the track and has a good time. She does get a little nervous. Heck so do I. Driving a car at the track is supposed to be a challenging isn't it?
And everything else aside, I would rather have a car with hole cut out of the hood so the motor would fit, than to have one with a lovely "carbon fiber surround" and a couple of fans sticking through it. Not knocking the Porsche's engineering at all, they are superb cars. Maybe it is just me, but looking at engines never gets old.
Anyway, enjoyed the video, thanks for sharing it. Watching car videos never gets old either

I dont know how many more of these we have to see for some koolaid drinkers on this forum to come back to reality. This was actually a pretty unbiased and more relevant review.
The part that I agree most is the part they say corvette is a sports car dialed up to max where its doing things its not meant to do. I will still get one because it sound great and i’m an adrenaline junkie but their point is exactly what I have been trying to say here for months and being called a troll (along with others). What you guys dont get is saying these things and thinking this way and liking this car are not mutually exclusive.
On a side note, those bucket seats in the gt3 are so good and the ones in corvette are just way too wide. I sat in both and corvette seats feel like they are designed for bigger people. Just going to suggest team corvette have a proper race/bucket seat next time around as an “option”. Understandbly a large number of people owning corvettes are older generation folks who may be uncomfortable in porsche’s seats but that doesnt mean there is no market for them. No harm in providing more options.

When and if these guys start picking the Vette, the Vette won't be a Vette no mo. And I think that is just around the corner.

Thats not true. Their point is Porsche’s GT3 is a lot closer to their race car, GT Cup than ZR1 is to C7R. When you look at the C7 line up, the car thats closest to C7R is C7 GS. The higher up you go in model line up, farther you go from the C7R.

I found this to be a fair review. Always fun to watch car videos. Typically, I’m sitting there disagreeing with the review; not in this case.
I owed and tracked a 991.1 GT3. And recently took delivery of a ZR1, my first Vette. Can’t wait to track it.
My first impressions. Any Porsche I get in feels fast, nimble and precise with amazing craftsmanship. When driving a Porsche, everything is effortless. Jump in and within minutes I am ready to throw it around. Get in the ZR1 and I realized its all about brute force, not finess. The immediate comfort is not there. The torque is absolutely mesmerizing and will be fun to daily drive and attempt to tame on the track. I expect initially my personal best track times from the GT3 will stand, but eventually, once I gain confidence, the ZR1 will be faster.
Only negative of the review: It is pointless to compare an automated manual to an automatic (clutch(s) vs. torque converter). There is no comparison. Automatics are getting better, but they are not the same in a track car.

I love both cars, but even my dad's old 03 911 turbo inspired so much confidence on the track, so I can only imagine what this gt3 feels like. Plus the design is absolutely timeless on that thing! In a hundred years it'll still look good .I'm not sure if the zr1's looks will age so well . IMO of course

400lb weight difference. As I said before, the ZR1 is a GT car, not a sports car anymore. Nothing wrong with that. Just a different type of car.

There comes a point in price were the German Emperor is revealed naked. There is nothing Edmunds, C&D, MT, and whatever can do about it..
