[VIDEO] ZR1 Maiden Laps
Today was the Summit Point Drivers Club and the folks there were nice enough to let me go out for a couple of laps to try and burnish the brakes. Now my car has passed the 500 mile break-in but not the 1500 miles required for track use so I just wanted to do a couple quick blasts and see if I could get the brakes burnished. Unfortunately, the stock brake fluid was having none of it from my driving.
Kathleen who runs the events was the only one brave enough to get in the passenger seat with me. Here are also a couple of pictures from the brief time I was there this afternoon.

Thank you for posting! I wonder what would happen if you mounted that ACR Viper Rear Wing on the ZR1?

It's amazing with all that work Chris did for water drainage on SPR Main last year: Mother Nature basically flipped him off all last week with that deluge. Sheesh.
And yes, change the brake fluid before you try to do the track burnishing. Doofus. :-)

Thanks for posting. Interesting to see how much brake pedal travel the PDR shows, probably reflecting what you experienced with the stock fluid. I bet you put the AP brakes on sooner than later.
The video definitely reflects significantly more decelerating “gurgle” than the Z06. You just helped GM sell more ZR1s.
Looking forward to to seeing you run it through the paces at VIR at the NCM event in June.

It's amazing how easily and quickly this car goes from 50mph to over 100mph.....

Just finished swapping to SRF. Maybe I'll have the opportunity to try again tomorrow.

Seems like the decrease in aero drag really minimizes the speed drop during shifts. Your straight speeds only dipped 1-2mph on shifts. The Z06 with full aero seems to drop a couple MPH more.

Gottdamn....I've waited a long bunch of years to see a Corvette, from the factory, match the imposing presence of an ACR.
Good things come to those who wait. I would say you're a "lucky" guy, but luck aint' got much to do with it. Doin what's necessary did. Now...if that's your white big white ride in the background, then damnit you're a lucky sob...lol.
