BTW, here is an oil test off my 2015 C7Z after 17 hours of track time.

Hold the phone. 17 hours is equivalent to ~10 track days. Are you saying you used the same oil for 10 track days in a row? If not, did you drive 10 track days, put fresh oil in and then tested? GM says to change oil after every track day. Oil consumption alone would have eaten the entire batch of oil in 10 track days.

GM said to go back to regular "Dexos" approved oil after each track day, 'before putting the car back on the street', not specifically to change oil after every track day. I ran my track oil for numerous track days (@3 to 4) over a 5 to 6 week period, without any issues. Ran it both track and street... as did many of the track rats.

As for your comment that "oil consumption alone would have eaten the entire batch of oil"... I experienced very little oil consumption last season... over the entire season (@ 9 or 10 track days total) I don't believe I had consumption even approach 1 quart.

I think it was 9 track days but neither of my Z06 used much oil. The 2015 did start to use more once it had over 100 track hours on it but nothing like a quart a day. I started going over 20 hours in between oil changes without an issue.

+1

28k miles on my 2015 Z51 with 40+ DE events. oil changed ~every 20 hours. Zero issues.

7k miles on my 2018 Z06. oil changed twice. 6 - 8 DE events so far not including chase/pace for charity laps. Zero issues.

So....having read all 5 pages of this thread. I am still unclear.

Is the 271' Oil Temp anything to write home about?

I suppose the real question is (with our Vettes running hot generally) - at what point is the Oil Temp or Water Temp a cause for worry? Rather, at what Fahrenheit's?

Hi Guys - question. Where is the oil temp recorded on the ZR1?

Pre oil cooler or post oil cooler?
