MacMulkin ZR1 on the floor

why would the dealer have to sell it at msrp or over? Never heard of this and I’m doubting this signing of a document. Anyone here buy a ZR1 yet and sign a no sell within a year contract?

Plus, like with most dealerships, the amount of the discount is always in flux. A person can walk in on the 30th day of the month and the dealership wants to meet their monthly sales quota and gives a great deal. Another person walks in on the 5th day of the month, and that same dealer isn't willing to discount as much....yet....
Reliable advertised a certain car, #412, for a specified price. That is not bait and switch. They DID NOT say "ALL ZR1's on sale for 10% off MSRP and then refused to sell every ZR1 for 10% off MSRP. If they get in another ZR1 that is unsold, they are not obligated to sell it at 10% off MSRP, just because they sold #412 for 10% off MSRP.

Platinum Supporting Dealership
When a dealership buys cars from GM - the dealership owns them and can sell them for whatever they want.
We also, have never made a 2019 ZR1 customer sign any such form stating they can't sell the car for a year. That policy and that paper does not exist at this dealership...

OK. I DON'T know what the now famous #412 sold for BUT:
For as long as I've been on this forum countless threads were started with: "BLAH BLAH Chevrolet has a 20?? Corvette something at 15% off MSRP on their website. Then, someone calls the dealership and is told: "Sorry, our website automatically applies a discount to every car. The car YOU'RE asking about is for sale at MSRP". It has happened millions of times and I bet it's what happened with #412.

I apologize I went back to my source who told me this and who now said they didn't say it so I will take the hit for the miss information, it's not something I would just randomly make up but I guess I was high on Z06 exhaust fumes that day. So again sorry for the incorrect information. I will admit I was wrong.

MacMulkin treated me 1000% professionally on my C7 Z06 purchase. They are great, honest, and fun people to work with.

Might not be quite that simple. Maybe they need to move a certain volume to keep their allocations up, and they make more money that way in the long run.
It would be ironic if the automatics are the slow sellers, since it's the autos which are setting the fast roadrace track times.

Then it was revealed that Dave Smith Motors in ID was discounting his C7's by around $3,500-$3,800.
People(the experts) on this forum went crazy. Several members showed proof of their purchase with the discount, yet they were called liars. etc.
Then Dave Smith personally said on this Forum that he was selling all his C7 allotments at a discount.
His allotments were quickly sold out.
Bunch of crow was eaten by the "experts" after that.

Be very careful. You might bust some bubbles. Some want desperately to believe that there are a hundred people waiting in line with fists full of money for each ZR1 that has been built so far.
I saw it when the first C5's came out. I saw it when the first C6's came out. I saw it when the first C7's came out. Some people just can't accept the fact that some people are able to buy a new release car for less than MSRP. At this point in time, you do have to look for that deal, just as those of us that wanted a new C5 and a new C6 when the dealers were asking over MSRP for them, and we were able to get ours for under MSRP.
