Watch the replay. It looks like he has a helmet on. Those who say this is good marketing are clueless.

If it bothers you, please don't participate. It is a good lesson for many. Accidents happen often because of poor judgement based upon skill level, or lack thereof.

Poor guy, we added some sounds to lighten the mood since he's OK, but this is one phone call I wouldn't want to be getting.

Is this the new ZR1-Corner.. (friendly jab, just playing)

In all honesty that was embarrassing I feel bad for him-- anyone can make a mistake behind the wheel, few will be pace car drivers for the indy series and have the opportunity to make that mistake in front of millions of people in person; and online.

Very true, but my point above is that it didn't have to happen. The car in regular modes with DSC and TC fully engaged would have prevented that accident, with more than ample performance to do it's pace car duties. I call that bad judgement.

With no HANS device a helmet would add even more weight to his head increasing to the inertial energy of the head snap. I'd guess this car had the stock 3 point belts and not a full harness but I'm not sure. A full harness without a HANS device is like playing Russian Roulette.

The driver will probably have major soreness issues by tonight....maybe need medical care tomorrow. I hope he and the passenger are ok.....that wall did not move and it was a harder hit than the TV screen shows

Don't think the heads at GM are gonna give the guy a break. He just embarrased the company on TV CRASHING the company's ultimate performance car........on a pace lap!

Sure, any C7 owner can drive on an open highway, make a right-- get off of the exit and slam into the barrier.

Most will not (thank god.)

LOL . . . which is exactly why most C7 owners should never turn DSC or TC off. Even those who think they can drive, often find out the hard way they cannot.
