That includes some pretty spirited bursts thrown into the mix... stop and go city as well as some highway. I won’t complain about those numbers... especially from a 700+ HP sports car.
What's up with the DIC now in the ZR1? Speedo goes to 360mph and there are no marking on the fuel gauge? Boost is in kPa. Canadian models get this goofiness? The speedo would drive me bananas.

Drives me nuts too. Speedo is to allow for kilometres... but boost gauge is a pain in the ***. My mind still thinks in mph, psi and Fahrenheit.

The speedo is ridiculous. All the numbers should have a secondary illuminated value across the dial. Unless you're going illegally fast, the needle never sweeps more than 1/4 of the range!

Even in Km/hr it still looks stupid on the street... that entire gauge is a waste of space and could better be utilized for other things. Speed is already available in the HUD and on numerous other screen setups. The 360 scale is necessary because in Km/hr the top speed of 214 mph works out to 344.399 kph

I never use the speedo to the left, seems that space could be used for something else. It's ridiculous the way they have eit all crammed together now.

I agree. I had a long chat with Ryan Vaughan, the main guy in charge of the interior of the C7. Part of my chat with him was around the way the IP is laid out, and what's presented, etc. We focused on the speedometer because I think it's really a ... questionable implementation. I asked him, sincerely, why did they even bother with it? In C4 days, the digital dash/speedo received a lot of hatred in favor of an analog setup. But that's because its design, at the time, was a bit clunky. Today we can have significantly better digital displays.

Well, it's the central digital display that actually caused them to build the analog speedo. By law, the driver has to have a visible speedo, 100% of the time. By putting in the analog speedo, even as clumsy as it is, it gave them complete freedom to do whatever they wanted with the center part of the IP and the HUD.

There's a lot of "shoulda/coulda/wouldas" with the IP design, and I'm sure the next one will be better. But that's why it's set up the way it is. Damned pesky laws...

Ill chime in here. Buddy of mine just picked up his and he let me drive it for a few hours. To be honest, I was already SOLD on upgrading my 15 Z06 to a 2020 ZR1 next spring but the more I drove it, the less sense (for me) it made. Now I have a few upgrades on my current Z so Im making more power and naturally, the acceleration, speed ect were all marginal to me at best. (Again, my car is no longer stock). I do like the interior upgrades, love the hood and wing and of course that front end is to die for, but $60k more just for that? Now dont get me wrong, I LOVE LOVE LOVE the new ZR1 and still considering the upgrade...But after driving it, Im strongly considering holding out for the new C8. My car is a summer weekend toy with less than 14k miles on it. Its not about affordability but more about practicality. I could buy some BJ's IPO stock with that $60k! Absolutely great car but for me, Im just not as excited about upgrading after driving one because of the marginal differences I experienced.

I bought my 18 z06 2lz back in december of 2017 for $78k when the car had an MSRP of $89,570 and the 19s werent out yet. Any chance of ever seeing rebates and discounts like that on the ZR1 in the upcoming years right before they release the c8?

BLVD, thanks for the input, what about handling ?
My Z/Z07 is stock so acceleration and gearing
should be noticeable.
Yeah it's a lot of $$$ but the LT5, all that carbon fiber etc in addition to the big Azz wing and viscous front end compelled me along with it being the last of the FE M7s.
What interior changes did you like?
