Default ZR1 shooting flames?

Have any current owners tested or saw actual flames coming out from our exhaust? Since the media was all saying the ZR1 shoots flames, I'm actually quite interested but I personally never saw any flames even on track. Also watched streetspeed's video and he didn't really get any flames either. Maybe it wasn't hot enough still?

The video that was showing the ZR1 shooting flames kind of looked like super heated gas/white smoke to me and not legit fire like the 600lt does.. I mean it's still cool to shoot white smoke out like that but I don't think I ever got the white smoke either. Any ZR1 owners experienced any fire or white smoke?

Good question, interested to know. I can't see how flames or even really hot exhaust could pass emissions. Going around setting fires is not being a good neighbor

I asked this awhile back in another thread so I could be ready to put on a show at Cars and Coffee. Car has to be at WOT in a nice long straight.

Hopefully one of the New owners has been able to test ?

No flames. My buddy took PDR video of me passing him and him following me for a lap... numerous WOT bursts, including a long WOT run and no visible flames out exhaust.

Yeah, I tried to get the photographer at VIR to get a shot but so far no luck seeing any flames. I suspect it has to be pretty low light like near dusk and potentially in to cat overtemp. Maybe in November when I'm at VIR.

but if its legit fire, it could be seen in daytime too like the performante and 600lt do, maybe a complete decat will get the fire out? I have the secondary removed but not getting fire like the video or those cars and I don't want to tune the car rich just for fire, curious how they got it like the video..

Have not seen flames from my Vette's yet, but my white car was making flames on the dyno.

nah probably just leave the fire shooting to the 600lt :P the ZR1 is awesome enough without the fire, I mean even if it does spit fire I can't see it anyway while i'm driving

Last year, at Charlotte, my Z06 lit the afterburners on the long oval at night. You can see it for 2 laps, but it only happens between NASCAR 2 and 3, on the back straight. You see the guys in the C6 point it out.

Jump to the 7:00 mark, as the video didn't share at the current time.

oh wow, that's what I call flamethrower! It's amazing and it last the whole way while u were on the throttle. Did you do anything specific to your car? like a tune or decat or custom exhaust?
