Default New ZR1 spotted in Waco/Hewitt, TX

I was just in town and spotted a new ZR1 for the first time. I was not a fan of the big wing until I just saw it in person. I have to say the car was pretty sexy. It was black on black and if you are here on the forum I would like to meet up and check it out.

I think that mostly the only ones bothered by any aspect of this car are the folks that have never really seen one for real. I’ll bet the vast majority do when they stand in front of it instead of looking at distorted pics on a computer screen.

I saw this one on hewitt drive by the O'Reilly auto parts store. Only saw it for a few seconds as we passed going the opposite way but it sure looked mean. Hopefully they are on the forum and will chime in.

Also thanks GasmanZR1 for replying. It's great to see a local here. And Frankie2blue I bet you are right. I have looked at countless posts and pictures of the new ZR1 and just didnt get it until I saw it today. Even though it was just a glance I really liked the styling with that wing where as before it looked ridiculous in pictures. It's kind of like when the C6 came out and I hated the body lines but I have since sold my C5 Z06 and now own C6 Z06 and I love it.

You're welcome. I'm not on here very much anymore because I'm currently Vetteless, although I've had 6 Vettes in the past. I've been checking out this section to see everyone's new ZR1s...Currently in a 2016 CTS-V, so close...

So I just saw the car again in my neighborhood. I guess it's not just a car passing thru town. Hopefully I can catch them at a gas station or something because it's a beautiful car and I really want to check it out. Unfortunately both times I have spotted it I was in my truck and not my C6Z. Also forgot to add that it appeared to be a female driving it!

Funny to see Hewitt mentioned. That is where I grew up. It was probably going to Woodway or Harris Creek. 😀

Ha ha! Both times I saw the car it has been on the south side of Hewitt coming from the Lorena/Moody direction.

Back when I was in high school, those were roads I would exercise my 5.0 Mustang on. I lived off Spring Valley.

Awesome to see a ZR1 around there. I will be back on Wednesday to see my folks. It sure has changed.

Rick

yes sir it has changed a lot. I grew up in west but my wife is from hewitt. I used to hook up with people from all over on the Valley in my Z28 and we used to race on texas central parkway back in the day.
